Early yesterday morning my Volcano MAGMA starter kit arrived – with 3 extra batts, 4 extra attys, an extra PCC, 20 medium Menthol carts and 20 blank carts. I immediately charged all of the batteries and the PCC's.
I wanted a totally spare PCC set ready for when I go out for the day or night. The overall convenience, as much as the vaping (smoking) experience, is what I crave. No waiting for anything to charge – grab the filled and charged spare PCC and hit the road.
I'm a 2-1/2 PAD smoker, currently of Lights 100's, and have smoked for over 30-years. I have tried just about every form of STOP SMOKING aid and program out there, except for acupuncture. Nothing worked very long for me, if it all.
My first impression of the MAGMA (being new to vaping):
Upon the first few hits off of the MAGMA I was impressed with the volume of vapor and flavor delivery. The throat hit wasn't quite what I expected, and the flavor was a bit off from what I’m used to... but I quickly adapted to both. I find that it sates my nicotine craving reasonably well, and that I drag on it far less than on an analog because I know that it’s not burning up while I do things.
It’s a psychological thing… you know the analog is constantly burning so you drag on it before and/or after flicking ashes, and again in-between. With the E-cig…. I’ve quickly gotten used to it being an on-demand “smoke.”
Though as soon as my juices and the blue foam arrive… I ordered menthol and some flavors each from three different vendors…. I’ll begin experimenting.
What I really like about vaping:
1. An E-cig doesn’t burn up, go out or waste one’s money. It only fires (burns) when one drags on it. Then it’s dormant until the next drag, even minutes or hours later. That alone saves tons of money.
2. There is absolutely no chance of starting a fire with one, under normal circumstances.
3. There are no ashes, and no sparks or embers dropping to burn clothing or furnishings.
4. There is no yellowing smoke that seems to stick to everything inside a building.
5. There is no more bothersome cigarette smoke odor for anyone to complain about.
6. There is no more need for ashtrays.
7. And vaping is far cheaper than smoking analogs – by my estimates, about one-seventh to one-sixth the cost overall… that is, for me and my habits. Time will tell the actual costs.
What I like about the MAGMA:
1. The MAGMA carts design is sensible, making them so easy to fill or refill.
2. Vapor volume and flavor delivery are very good.
3. The advanced MAGMA PCC is a really nice design, with a semi-trapped lid hinge pin, holds 5 spare carts, a spare atty (or an atty with a sixth cart attached) and two spare batts. And it is a sturdy well-made product.
4. I especially like the PCC’s LCD charge display on the lower front, and the multi-purpose bar switch just below it.
5. The red LED light on the PCC bottom, that operates with the bar switch, is a nice touch for selecting the right house key in the dark.
As a new vape kiddy I am very pleased with the Volcano MAGMA. I love the advanced PCC and its functionality and ease of use. Having a complete, charged and filled spare PCC makes everything about vaping easy to take and very likeable.
Despite having six (6) spare cartons of analogs in the freezer, I have not had an analog since 10:00am yesterday… and I do not crave one. To me, that is almost a miracle. [sigh] Now I just have to find someone who will buy my six (6) cartons of analogs for a fair price.
I truly wish I had started vaping two years ago…. when I first started looking into it. But I’m here now… and I am very thankful for having ECF and all the other vapies as guides, mentors and hopefully as friends.
NOTE:
The Blu E-cig I had ordered arrived late yesterday afternoon. I charged two batts and the Blu PCC and tried vaping with it. Nope…. the Blu is not for me. It is too small, very short battery life, the carts don’t hold enough juice, and the volume of vapor and flavor delivery were sorely lacking. It is re-packaged and ready to send back today for a refund.
