Volcano MAGMA first impressions....

Early yesterday morning my Volcano MAGMA starter kit arrived – with 3 extra batts, 4 extra attys, an extra PCC, 20 medium Menthol carts and 20 blank carts. I immediately charged all of the batteries and the PCC's.

I wanted a totally spare PCC set ready for when I go out for the day or night. The overall convenience, as much as the vaping (smoking) experience, is what I crave. No waiting for anything to charge – grab the filled and charged spare PCC and hit the road.

I'm a 2-1/2 PAD smoker, currently of Lights 100's, and have smoked for over 30-years. I have tried just about every form of STOP SMOKING aid and program out there, except for acupuncture. Nothing worked very long for me, if it all.

My first impression of the MAGMA (being new to vaping):
Upon the first few hits off of the MAGMA I was impressed with the volume of vapor and flavor delivery. The throat hit wasn't quite what I expected, and the flavor was a bit off from what I’m used to... but I quickly adapted to both. I find that it sates my nicotine craving reasonably well, and that I drag on it far less than on an analog because I know that it’s not burning up while I do things.

It’s a psychological thing… you know the analog is constantly burning so you drag on it before and/or after flicking ashes, and again in-between. With the E-cig…. I’ve quickly gotten used to it being an on-demand “smoke.”

Though as soon as my juices and the blue foam arrive… I ordered menthol and some flavors each from three different vendors…. I’ll begin experimenting.

What I really like about vaping:

1. An E-cig doesn’t burn up, go out or waste one’s money. It only fires (burns) when one drags on it. Then it’s dormant until the next drag, even minutes or hours later. That alone saves tons of money.
2. There is absolutely no chance of starting a fire with one, under normal circumstances.
3. There are no ashes, and no sparks or embers dropping to burn clothing or furnishings.
4. There is no yellowing smoke that seems to stick to everything inside a building.
5. There is no more bothersome cigarette smoke odor for anyone to complain about.
6. There is no more need for ashtrays.
7. And vaping is far cheaper than smoking analogs – by my estimates, about one-seventh to one-sixth the cost overall… that is, for me and my habits. Time will tell the actual costs.

What I like about the MAGMA:

1. The MAGMA carts design is sensible, making them so easy to fill or refill.
2. Vapor volume and flavor delivery are very good.
3. The advanced MAGMA PCC is a really nice design, with a semi-trapped lid hinge pin, holds 5 spare carts, a spare atty (or an atty with a sixth cart attached) and two spare batts. And it is a sturdy well-made product.
4. I especially like the PCC’s LCD charge display on the lower front, and the multi-purpose bar switch just below it.
5. The red LED light on the PCC bottom, that operates with the bar switch, is a nice touch for selecting the right house key in the dark.

As a new vape kiddy I am very pleased with the Volcano MAGMA. I love the advanced PCC and its functionality and ease of use. Having a complete, charged and filled spare PCC makes everything about vaping easy to take and very likeable.

Despite having six (6) spare cartons of analogs in the freezer, I have not had an analog since 10:00am yesterday… and I do not crave one. To me, that is almost a miracle. [sigh] Now I just have to find someone who will buy my six (6) cartons of analogs for a fair price.

I truly wish I had started vaping two years ago…. when I first started looking into it. But I’m here now… and I am very thankful for having ECF and all the other vapies as guides, mentors and hopefully as friends.

NOTE:
The Blu E-cig I had ordered arrived late yesterday afternoon. I charged two batts and the Blu PCC and tried vaping with it. Nope…. the Blu is not for me. It is too small, very short battery life, the carts don’t hold enough juice, and the volume of vapor and flavor delivery were sorely lacking. It is re-packaged and ready to send back today for a refund.

I'm going to give my opinion on the Magma, in a short condensed version. Yes, it's just a rebranded 510, but with an incredibly durable atty. I belive the attys are made by Baumay, but I may be completely wrong there. They ohm at 2.5, and work terrificly. The Magma was the kit that made me quit smoking and enjoy vaping. I have since moved on to mods, but I have kept all my volcano stuff in it's box. I loan them out to friends that want to try vaping, and they all report back that they love it, I've gotten 4 people converted already, all have ordered the Magma.
If you are going to use carts with it, you kind of have to use Volcanos, as the typical 510 carts fall off their attys pretty easy, they do sell blanks if you want to use your own juice. Their juices are pretty tasty though, so you may want to give them a try.
What makes Volcano so great, is their customer service. They are remarkable. Never question anything and are always willing to help. If I were to start over again as a "noob", I dont think I would order their kit, but would definitely order their batteries and attys and charger. You can get 2 batts,2 attys and a usb charger for like $40 dollars doing it that way.

I just got into Magmas (my current fave), and they are awesome!!! I do dripping with them and use their drip tips (they have a good price on these btw). This set-up seems perfect for me. The pcc totally rocks too. Totally convenient and looks great! I highly recommend the Magma. I just ordered more parts!

I also quit smoking 1/2-1 pack per day (old-fash cigs) 2 months ago by switching to vaping. I actually like vaping so much more because of all the flavors! :)

I have been doing research and keep coming back to Volcano Magma and two others, my question is do you use the cartridges or drip? Do you use the liquids from Volcano or where else?

Blake
I've been using the Magma for a bit over 1.5 months. I primarily use carts for the convenience (hard to drip and drive, etc.), but sitting at the 'puter or what not, I sort of like dripping.

Elsewhere in this thread, somebody said you were pretty much locked into using Volcano carts. The Magma is pretty much a slightly oversized 510 type, and the cartridge "bucket" holds more than a standard 510 cartridge.

Because of the oversize, you pretty much need to buy carts from Volcano as well as your drip tip(s) if you want to drip. Volcano's got a stainless steel tip (which I don't own) and some anodized aluminum (which I do).

I've been extremely impressed with Volcano...good C/S, pretty quick delivery to the mainland, very(!) helpful Volcano-specific forum with a lot of great people helping others.

I have no experience with the Volcano Volcano (redundant?), only the Volcano Magma. I recommend it all over the place.

Mods are next for me, but the Magma will always hold a special place in my heart (too sappy?).

So far, I've received juice from four different vendors..... mostly RY4, Menthol and Vanilla Bean... to compare for the best flavor of each. But I am extremely partial to Sweet Caroline available only from iVape. It's like RY4..... but much better. Though it only comes in 10ml bottles.

Yep, the Volcano MAGMA PCC really rocks, because it is so versatile, has the charge indicator on the lower case front, and because for me it holds more than enough supplies for a day of really heavy vaping.

Yes, I bought a slew of blank carts in order to fill my own with juice I purchased from other vendors. And the MAGMA carts being so easy to fill or refill.... is a real benefit.

As well, I bought a few prefilled MAGMA carts in several flavors. At .80-cents for a prefilled cart... they're among the cheapest branded prefilled carts I've seen for any E-cig... that hold so much juice.

I also ordered the blue Fluval Foam with which to mod my carts for improved wicking... and it works great.

I am extremely pleased with the Volcano MAGMA... being my first E-cig.

Well... after just over 60-days of vaping with a Volcano MAGMA, and having switched to mega batteries and cartomizers at 30-days... I was really impressed.

Now I am super impressed. I got my Volcano INFERNO last week. It's a super mega battery that uses regular atomizers and carts, or cartomizers. I am a heavy vape-head and one battery lasts me all day, every day. Sure it's fatter than the mega or standard batteries... more like a cigar... but it's worth the size to not be running out of power.

And when the INFERNO is used with the mega cartomizers.... which hold almost twice the amount of ejuice as the standard cartomizer... it is a powerhouse of vapor output.

Yep... I love Volcano products.

Now if they only had a PCC for the INFERNO so that I could carry extra cartomizers and be able to recharge the INFERNO battery at least once or twice from the PCC.
