My older sister recently received a Volcano Magma kit for her husband, which i tried and really liked. I also ordered a 510 kit from madvapes.com for my younger sister (trying to hook any smoker I know away from analogs!) and tried it out when it came. It did not produce nearly the same vapor or feel as smooth.

Since the Magma is essentially a 510, the only thing I can figure is that the eliquid is making the difference. Is there anything I am not considering? I've heard lots about 510 vapor production, and thought it would be nice to have the experience I had on that Magma the other night with the price of only the madvapes kit.

I think I'm just going vape-crazy and getting obsessed.

Recommendations anyone?

my first kit was the Magma --- i bought this last summer before i actually quit analogs, it is definatly a good model for toting around town or work -- i believe there attys are rated @ 2.5ohms for the magma -- and a friend who hooked me up on these had VaporKINGS --- first thing we noticed when comparing the VK's to the Magma was the atty design and cleaned up.

so that sold me on Volcano -- i since then got my Inferno Kit that has the 650mAh and 1000mAh batteries -- the 650 doubles as usb passthru for computer or car cig lighter

i have boughtn some cheap knockoffs and just forget that --- i did not even need to smoke them to know they wernt built good

one thing i can say about volcano --- there support is VERY GOOD -- shipping is very fast and FREE if over 50 bucks ---

-----> epuffdirect <---- is the code most use to get 10% off -------- Volcano Fine Electronic Cigarette...home of the best eCig

now i cant say nothing bout joye or others --- i just know volcano is good -- based in hawaii --- fast fed-ex shipping --- supurb support

if you get the regular inferno starter kit and use the "EPUFFDIRECT" coupon code --- whats that --- $54 shipped?

It seemed like a good kit. And the shipping my sister got was great.

yea, sorry i didnt answer your question, but i was so happy with volcano that i never really tried another company --- i am sure others can say the same thing about the company they got theres from ---

i guess just watch out for knock-offs or clearance stuff --- unless your like me and did that on purpose for bringing to work or to trash around -- i wouldnt bring my inferno to work if i was outside digging ditches that day. ---

all i know is you cant go wrong with magma or the inferno -- the magma came with the personal charger wich i use for work to charge one battery while vaping the other, and the inferno with that 650 usb --- great for sitting at computer --- going on trip --- grab the 1000 battery

i always send folks to volcano when strangers ask me what i am smoking

I too had the Magma as my first...and I went from there to the eGo.....and 808 at the same time.....regarding the 510's...I use my magma atties on my ego and I LOVE their cartos.....no filler.....great IMO!!! My Hubby has since taken over my Magma and is really loving it! And I will agree Volcano does have one of the best CS out there.....they follow their forum posts and act super fast....I had an issue with the pcc....easily fixable...asked about it in the forum and before I knew it, I had an email from their CS to do a replacement.....didn't need a replacement just needed to drain completely and recharge....never had another problem after that.......

I think someone said Volcano said their Magmas are Joye 510s. If you buy a Joye 510 then the hardware should be the same. Joye is the original manufacturer. Volcano uses a different roomier PCC (I think like the Vapormaxx one I picked up elsewhere) and has their own extra graphics on stuff and probably charging more.

There are a LOT of atomizer makers for 510 and probably some other battery and cart makers as well - clone parts. Some are good and some are not as good.

Madvapes - I don't know if they are selling Joye. I see one kit there that says it is Boge. I see another and in the comment it says it is SLB. So neither is Joye. That means the atomizer is probably different since both of those companies make atomizers to fit Joye 510. They don't look exactly the same as a Joye 510 atomizer and may perform differently.

Then you have the carts - every cart is stuffed a bit differently. Some are stuffed tighter, looser, neater, messier and it will affect wicking.

Then there is the juice - maybe they all come with Chinese Dekang PG in the carts (100% PG juice is harsher and has thinner more quickly dissipating vapor). Maybe one of them puts their own different juice in prefilled carts. Then there are the juices they sell. Madvapes sells Chinese PG, Chinese VG, and American PG/VG blend of some ratio. I don't know what ratio Volcano sells - they don't seem to say. I generally buy my juices from places that state or let you choose the PG/VG ratio.

Someone here says SLB attys are a cooler vape, and someone else says the SLB atty is higher resistance than Joye atty 9which would make a cooler vape). So yes - sounds like they vape differently.

If you ever want a Joye 510, Cignot.com and LiteCigUSA.net both sell Joye and that should be more like what you have.

Thanks for the educational responses, gang. I will keep all that in mind. Actually, I had my first real problem today. I killed one battery and set it to charge before I left the house on an errand, then left with another battery that, unknown to me, was barely charged. I was barely able to vape on the way home. NOW I understand the appeal of the bigger PVs, like eGo and Riva :D

I'm such an addict...

@dormouse - They definitely don't charge any more than anyone else, and in fact, if you buy 2 atty's at once, they're $6.99 a piece which is actually cheaper than most sites that I've come across for 510's. Most reviews on the Magma atty's is that they aren't as hot as Joye 510's so they produce a little more flavor and less throat hit. I prefer the original Joye's and LR's for throat hit, but I would use the Magma's for making a mod last all day.
