Hi all sorry if this was posted all ready...I want to order Volt ecigs from Smokelss Images and there is no explanation on the site about how the amout of nicotine in the different levels for the is related to real cigarettes. They have xhigh 24mg high 18 mg med 12mg and low 6..I smoke Marlboro lights so what would be the best option for me?

Hi, welcome to the forum! How long have you smoked and how much?

It's really difficult to determine. There are some heavy smokers that need low nicotine and some light smokers that need high nicotine to get off cigs. I know that answer isn't much help to you, sorry.

When I started I ordered a bottle of 12 & 24 and figured I could add to the 12 or reduce the 24. The 24 worked for me. Try the 18.

Thats a tough question to answer. I don't know that I ever got an answer to that question when I was looking for it. I can tell you that I smoked a pack and a half of newports a day, so I went with 24mg when I ordered the Volt. I have read that light cigarettes when tested had the same amount of Nicotine as regular cigs. Other sites have 24mg listed as high and 18mg as med so don't let the Xhigh thing worry you. When you order you get a 5 pack free. You could always buy extra 5 pack. Get one at 18 and one at 24. Trust me, you'll burn through 5 cartos pretty quick. The Volt is a great product by the way.

Try the 18, that might work for you.

Most prefilled cartridges have juice that's pretty harsh though, try a lower mg. You don't want to go too low or it won't do anything for the nicotine cravings.

When you start vaping it's very dehydrating anyway, so drink a lot of water. I sucked on tic tacs or throat lozenges too. You can always go lower when your off cigs for awhile.

So I tried a friends 24mg xhigh...only complaint is it makes my throat scratchy almost like the sensation if youve ever tried the nicotine gum or lozenges

Hi Janie! Welcome to the forum. I think you'll really like your Volt. I love mine!

When I first started vaping, I had a bit of that scratchy feeling in my throat, but it went away in less than a week. As Swedisfish mentioned, drink LOTS of water. I don't think I was drinking enough water, so that might have had something to do with it.

My advice would be to start with 18 or 24 mg as others have mentioned. You want something strong enough to nix the nic cravings. The juices in Smokeless Image cartos are pretty smooth, so I don't think any of the levels will be way too high, but some might be too low.

One other thing to look out for when you're switching to vaping is that it's not all about nicotine. There are 4,000 other chemicals and toxins in cigarettes that you're addicted to, so you might feel like something's 'missing' for a couple of days, but it is NOTHING like quitting cold turky or using patches, inhalers, meds. Vaping is way better and makes things so much easier.

For the first couple of days I really struggled with cravings for that morning cig and 'after eating' cig even though I was satisfied with vaping the rest of the day. Personally, I found the only thing that satisfied during those times was a menthol-flavoured juice (straight up menthol, not tobacco menthol). Everything else tasted too rich, sweet, or just lacked flavour. It's like the menthol wakes up your taste buds in the morning and cleanses your pallet after dinner. Just passing on a tip that worked for me! (Your mileage may vary lol)

Good luck and enjoy!

They don't last long. They might contain about 1/2 a ml of juice and people vape 2/3-5ml a day.

Once you get your kit and figure out what flavor you like and a good nicotine strength for you- like I said, get a bottle of juice and fill them yourself. They taste better, they hold more and it's much cheaper!

That's when the fun begins! There are quite a few juice vendors in the NJ/PA/NY area so you'll get orders quickly through the mail.

If you google it you'll get a lot of different information on that. I read an article from a major newspaper that stated you get about 1.89 mg of nicotine per cig. It all depends on how you smoke(d) too...ie ligth puffs or big drags, etc. I was a smoker for 10 years, I smoked a pack a day for most of that time. I use the 24mg liquid and go thru about 3ml a day.

Luna...I will definitely try your advice with the menthol..I rarely smoke menthol cigarettes but I will try a minty flavor for those after coffee moments...did you use the Ice menthol, Menthol burst or Mint

I actually bought the menthol juice from a supplier in Canada. I don't usually use pre-filled cartos (I usually buy juice and fill blanks) but I got some from pre-filled from Smokeless Image when I bought my kit (the RY4 flavour which I really like) and have since tried the Ice Menthol pre-filled Volt cartos because a Canadian supplier was having a huge sale.

I didn't like the Ice Menthol cartos as much as my regular methol juice, but they're nice and I think they'll be just the ticket for you. Nice cool inhale/exhale. I've heard the Smokeless Image menthol burst is a lot lighter tasting than the Menthol Ice. I like a little kick to my menthol, so the Menthol Ice did it for me.

Taste is very subjective when it comes to e-juices, but you might like the RY4 (a caramel tobacco) and the Menthol Ice. Pick up a pack of blank cartos too because I'm sure you'll want to try the millions of other flavours out there! Filling cartos is really easy (and you can refill them for weeks) and it's a lot cheaper than buying pre-filled. You can refill the Smokeless Image pre-filled though, so if you find a flavour you love from them, buy a 30 ml bottle and refill the cartos.

I was always told that most "light" cigarettes don't actually contain less nicotine. A lot of the big tobacco companies got in trouble years ago when they were advertising light cigarettes as "less tar and nicotine".

I smoke Camel Lights, and my friend smokes regular Camels. Whenever he'd bum a cig off me, he would wrap a piece of tape around the filter to make it taste stronger. When I first noticed him doing that, I asked why he was taping up the filter. He explained and told me to look closely at the filter, and pointed out that there are some tiny holes going around the filter (about at the middle of the filter on Camel Lights). He said the regular Camels and Camel Lights are basically the same blend and strength of tobacco. He told me that because the Lights have those tiny holes on the filter, that you’re actually just getting more "fresh air" in the drag. Thus, making it less harsh of a hit.

Before he told me that, I always assumed that light cigarettes contained a different blend of tobacco than regular cigarettes.
Can anyone confirm that this is true?

This same person also told me that in Menthol cigarettes, the menthol flavor actually comes from something in the filter, and not the blend of tobacco. I have no idea if that statement is true or not. I'm not a big fan of menthol cigarettes, so I only smoke them if I really need a nicotine fix, and that's my only option. Can anyone confirm if there's any truth to that statement as well?
Sorry if that’s a little off topic to your original question. But since you stated that you smoke Marlboro Lights and wanted something equivalent in strength, I thought I’d point that out.
