Hey everyone,

This is my first post here, I hope you're all doing good!

I was a heavy smoker for many years (smoking 20 - 40 Marlboro reds per day) A year ago i stopped smoking and moved to GreenSmoke ecigs, initially on the strongest nicotine level having now moved down to their 'Light/1.2%' nicotine level cartomizers (in their Mocha/Coffee flavour).

I would very much like to move down to a nicotine free ecig to try and get rid of my nicotine addiction whilst still having something to combat the cravings at least psychologically speaking (eg something to vape!)

I have tried GreenSmokes nicotine free versions and to me they are not good, they taste like a nicotine version that has nearly run out with very little flavour or throat hit. I understand the throat hit will be less with no nicotine but i find the greensmoke ones really quite unpleasant (and not remotely like the nicotine versions as they claim).

As a result i am trying to find the best nicotine-free ecig that I can switch to that has some flavour and if at all possible some kind of throat hit. I don't mind so much whether they are sold as sealed cartomizers or are refillable.

Could anyone point me in the direction of brand/s that are generally accepted as having the 'best' nicotine free products that i can try them?

Thanks so much everyone,

Dave

After looking at the price of those things, I would suggest you move up to something that is more economical as well as customizable. A good VV/VW mod like the Innokin Itaste VV3 and a Kanger Mini Protank II (about $50 US for the 2)will let you choose from 1000's of juice flavors that are out there as well as being able to adjust your nic level to whatever suits you.

Congrats on switching!

I would suggest that you change your search to search for a nicotine free LIQUID and a personal vaporizer (PV) with a topper (clearomizer, etc...) that you can use it in. BigCatDaddy had some good suggestions. Also, just a simple ego, ego twist, vision spinner, with a protank or some sort of tank topper.

If you can find a vape shop near you, you can check out some of the non-cigalike options available in the market today, as well as taste test a lot of liquids. Most of those liquids will be available in 0 nic.

Dave?

I am vaping zero nicotine about 25% of the time these days.

You are talking about "brand" e-cigs which are no use to me, I'm afraid.

I fill up a clearomiser, put it on an eGo or Mod and Vape. To me, they are two different things.

- - -

If it was me, I'd buy a Mini Protank kit from Myepack (or iTasteVV) and get the zero nic liquids from either there (Shisha) or LT e-cigs.

I am actually trying some new Myepack Shisha liquids if you wait a day or two to hear how they are.

I am amazed you managed to quit on Greensmoke.... you must have spent a small fortune.

Thanks so much everyone for your responses. To be honest i don't mind if i use eliquid or premade as long as it's a good vape (strong throat hit!) for nicotine free and is easy/portable/quick to use (and ideally not too expensive!)

So you would all recommend a kit like myepack.co.uk/kits/itaste-vv-v3-o.html and then to purchase separate liquids? Presumably you just fill the clearomizers with the chosen liquid and top up as necessary? How often should you then replace the clearomizer? And presumably to have multiple batteries you need to just buy more kits and charge them separately (and get a wall plug charger adapter)?

Do you find they leak at all or the clearomizers break when carrying them around (as i've read this elsewhere but not about these products specifically)? Definitely wouldn't want that or something i have to be too careful of as i inevitably won't be :)

Does anyone have any recommendations as to good eliquid flavours/brands that offer a good throat hit with 0% nicotine as this is what I understand will be lost? djsvapour - i'd love to hear how the shisha flavours are, i heard good things about them from a friend of mine

And i have spent a fortune on GreenSmoke but compared to 40 cigarettes a day which is £17/day in the UK i've saved a small fortune!

Thanks so much everyone,

Dave

Throat hit is where the zero nicotine suffers the worst. I shall try and take a few "readings" later and see!

The iTaste is a super little variable power e-cig, with lots of features taken from big mods. I love it - it's all I use these days between 9-5.

There are good and bad "Shisha" liquids. The worst are nothing more than expensive e-liquids made for 20p and sold for £4.99 - barely any flavour and certainly no satisfaction.

Clearomisers can break in you pocket... depends what you use and how careful you are. Worst case, you could take them off and put them in a little plastic box or something. I have carried a standard eGo ecig around in a toothbrush tube from poundland before.

Well that is going to be a big problem. There really is no such thing as a 'strong' throat hit with zero nicotine. The only way to get a throat hit off of a no-nic juice would be to use a sub-ohm device. You would have to research mechs and RDA's for that.

Your best bet is to just drop to 6mg/ml of nic content in your juice and get a decent VV/VW device like an iTaste MVP2 of something similar and a decent clearomizer like a Kanger Aerotank or Aspire Nautilus.

If you have interest in mechanical mods that will take some research and understanding of how to build coils and safely use the device overall.

Thanks for your help guys!

djvapour: Did you try any of the myepack shisha liquids? If so were they nice and was there any kind of throat hit from any of them? :)

cave123: That's a shame about the throat hit but understandable. To be honest i don't want to put nicotine into the juice as i'm currently trying to kick the nicotine habit completely (otherwise i'd just continue with greensmoke as they are super easy to use and much more portable than the refillable ones, albeit more expensive). Realistically i'm not going to get into mods i would suspect, i just want something good to vape without any hassle! So it sounds like i pretty much won't get any throat hit whatever i try, i just need to find a flavour that tastes okay and at least gives me something to drag on while i'm craving the nicotine!!

Thanks so much everyone!

You'll throw thousands away on the disposables... Get a vv/vw right out of the gate. You'll end up there eventually.
Thanks V4peEscape, i am going to move over to vv/vw, just trying to work out the best liquids to get to get over the nicotine addiction (i crave the throat hit after many many years of 40 Marlboro reds a day!)

Yes go with the VV/VW option - if you turn the power up you can get a slightly burnt taste (depending on the juice) and this can help you with a bit of throat hit at the expense of the burnt taste. There's usually happy medium with VV/VW.

Yes, I did :) Actually, I've just emptied my Protank of the "Mango" flavour, as I'm not vaping on it at all, just a waste of a nice tank.

They taste great...but there's no throat hit at all...

The mint + grape was very minty, quite nice, but that's as far as it goes.

Disappointed in the product? No. Disappointed in getting zero satisfaction from vaping on it? Yes. :)

I'm going to slip in some 72mg nic' base and see what that does.

I'll give my opinion here, I too started out with the cigalike stick batteries and disposable cartridges (V2 brand) then got fed up with the 1.50 per cartridge price and only having about 2-3 hours of vape time. So the next step was the ego style battery with VV/VW options and was able to get almost a full workday vape from it. The step up to VV/VW was huge, only bad thing about the ego batteries was I had to wait 2-3 hours for them to charge up before I could vape again. So I then took the plunge into the and APV with 18650 batteries and a charger for them. With 2250 Mah batteries I would make it about 10-12 hours of vaping and could always have a spare fresh 18650 with me for just in case.

Now for you throat hit question, only chance you have of a throat hit is by using a very high PG ratio and/or vaping at a higher power level. Once you decide to save money and go all in on a proper setup (protank, Kayfun, Russian, etc with an ego or APV) you will have access to literaly 1000's of different juices to try/sample until you find some you like. DIY is another option if there is a particular flavor mix you want but can't find. Finding a local vaping shop would be the best bet, so you could sample some juices on a proper setup.

I personally wish I would have skipped the 40 dollar V2 starter kit and the 25 dollar Ego battery and it would have paid for my Vamo (APV) that I eventually got. I do use the Ego still when I'm out and about because it's small and works well with my tanks.
