Thank you. And of all the reviews and You Tubes and posts here, the Volt didn't have any bad reviews. Not on product, or customer service.

You are saying that the pre-fills cartos can be just topped off with the same flavor juice without taking the thing apart? I am sitting here looking at my Cig2O and there is a small hole on the end. This is where the drops would go in? I am really sorry for asking what are probably very silly questions.

hi there, yes its very easy to unscrew the cartomizer from the battery and they have lovely little rubbery plugs at the top, just pop that off (it comes off with no effort but not in your mouth you will be glad to know) once you pop off the little plug at the end just tilt your carto on an angle and slowly drip the juice around the sides. When the filler looks all slushy just give it a gentle blow in case you have juice at the bottom and give it a wipe. put the plug back in screw it on your battery and vape away :) Good luck!! As for the prefilled cartos from SI, I would recommend getting the mixed sampler cartos of all, you will be suprised what tastes good to you. If none taste any good you can try flavours from other venders and buy the cartos blank in the future and fill with your own favourite juices, just stick with juices higher in PG as VG is a little thicker and harder on the cartos.

Hey Stacy,
I also started off with the Volt, been 13 days since I had my last "analog". Smokeless Image has great customer support, easy to navigate web site, and great prices. You'll be very pleased with what ever you get.
This community has tons of useful information to get you hooked. I'm already looking in to my first mod.
There are different ways to refill cartomizers. The forums and youtube will be your best friends. With the new Volt cartomizers refilling/ topping off is easy as pie. The new soft rubber mouth pieces and sealed batteries make it very easy. You actually remove the cartomizer from the battery and place the condom with the plug in the connection end, then remove the soft rubber mouth piece and drip a few drops in to the poly fill (cotton like thing on the inside). Just make sure to have the cartomizer at a 45ish angle and not to drop any in to the center tube.

Cheers.

Thank you. This might actually be kinda fun.) I am sure I will have many questions.

One thing I have noticed is with my Cig2O crap here... I get a warm vape, but that stupid thing has burned my lip more than once. Is it like that on all of them? Will the drip tips/mouth pieces prevent this?

Stacey,

If you go to the Smokeless Image site and click on refill liquids there is a YouTube video on top that shows you how to refill cartos. I was afraid of refilling myself it was that vid that got me over that it's really easy.

Smokeless Image is a pleasure to deal with and they have solid products I've been using Volt since December and haven't had any problems. I went with V2 at first and that was a mistake from both a customer support basis and product basis. I had problems with both from the word go. The Volt from Smokeless Image is a good choice.

I recommend you stay at your current mg level then drop down I started vaping at 12mg I was a much heaver smoker than you and had real nic fit problems. Problems I could have avoided by starting higher nic fits are a serious distraction at work
on the road etc.

Whatever you get make sure you have two batteries it's the minimum you need to be successful. Always good to have charged battery around. Also if you loose one or something no worries, you've got a back up.

And one finial bit of advice, it's less of a problem to have to much to vape than to little.

Good Luck!

I started with a gas station Gamucci kit. I didn't think I was a sweet flavor lover, so I started with regular tobacco flavor.

Tha Gamucci was a piece of junk. It certainly didn't take me long and I had a Joye 501 kit on its way from cignot.com.

I have been using the 501 off and on for 6 months. I bought about a half dozen small bottles of juice and empty cartomizers to try my juices in. It really is a trial and error type of thing.

In the past 3 weeks, I have ordered an Ego kit, a KR808D1 kit, and a build it yourself 5v box mod from madvapes.com. I found the juice that "does it" for me from BlueMist Vaping. It is a 36mg "Smooth" flavor. It tastes just like Marlboro Smooth cigarettes. It is a Minty Menthol flavor. The 36mg of nic keeps me from craving real cigs, and the throat hit off of this juice is pretty extreme.

I guess all I am trying to say is that it sounds like you have picked a very good e-cig. Just find the juice that "does it" for you, and you will be all set! It will take a little bit of time, and a little bit of money, but once you find it you will be extremely happy :)

i agree volts are awesome!!!! for a first timer of sorts

Volts are awesome for anyone regardless of first timer except if you love playing with mods and fiddling! Then Volts are boring because all you do is refill screw on the cartomizer and puff away ... if you love fiddling and experimenting and building and investing lots of money Volts are good to start off with :)

I would get the two sampler packs - tobacco and fruit, you might find the fruit flavor to be good, I did. After a week of vaping the tobacco flavors are gross to me. Vanilla is not so good. Also I found 18 mg was good for general use but needed 24 to kill the cig craving. Too all his own.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Would be no different than lighting that last smoke and realizing it was REALLY the last one and not being able to get to town fast enough. lol

You really want at LEAST 3 batteries. The wife and I have 6 a piece. I would also get an extra changer. You don't have to get it all at once but you are going to be ordering cartos or juice refills so you might as well throw an extra battery in too. As far as nic strength I would start with the 24mg until you don't want analogs and then move down if you wish. We stared at 36mg and vape 24 now since the juice we like doesn't come in 36. If you still crave a real cigarette I would say you're not getting enough nicotine. You might want to try their "comfort tips" also. I don't care for them but my wife loves the rubber type tips. I use the harder plastic dip tips.

A quick thought...

When I cut down and then quit, I really missed it with coffee in the morning.

Consider getting a bottle of high nic. coffee or cappuccino flavored ejuice, it really was a great taste and gave me a strong alternative cig. flavor.

I have 4 friends that found it to be a turning point...

Also, if no one has mentioned it, when you have enough posts, please enter the volt T-shirt contest.

I have only smoked 4 cigs in 3 days. So, if this piece of garbage will help me quit then I so cannot wait to get my Volt.

Great Stuff.

The Cig2O I got is 18mg, but the throat hit is not consistent and I was kinda hoping to go to a lower nicotine level. Looks like there is going to be alot of trial and error in my future.

Looking at the flavors on SI, I am at a loss. LOL I really hate waste so ordering either pre-filled or juices is a little brain rattling. I am not a fruity type person and was originally going to stick with the tobacco flavors, but now I am not sure there either lol. I thought I would try the RY4 or vanilla, maybe both. But the Vanilla from what I can see has 0 nic. ?? That is fine with me actually, as long as I get the vape and throat hit.

It can't hurt to try a sampler or two. I know you browsed for months, but I'd consider using the search thread function specifically on the Smokeless Image thread here (or ECF as a whole) to get as many opinions on the SI carts as you can. Maybe a sampler and a somewhat blind purchase of a single flavor?

A little of trial and error but not a ton hopefully. Finding something perfect is great and sometimes a dream but more than anything just avoiding things you can't tolerate is the best starting point. You'll figure out quickly what you like and don't like and also better be able to translate people's attempts at describing flavor (in product descriptions and reviews) from your own initial experiences.

BTW, Vanilla and everything else is available is varying strengths -- I'm assuming they are just out of stock. BTW, personal opinion -- skip Vanilla completely.

My better half and I tend to have opposing opinions on flavors so far with the only common one (from SI) being Menthol Ice. She is/was a menthol smoker and was looking to replicate that. I wasn't but do like the flavor. I find RY4 delicious and can see why it and any variations on it exist in the marketplace. She wasn't so interested in it. We tried a few other flavors -- nothing horrid but after finding something that worked we had less interest in the others.

We've bought from two other vendors so far that do pre-filled carts. One of them (V4l) we struck out on the random flavors we tried, but we'd also ordered them prior to getting the Volts so we had no feel for what flavors we'd like and not like...so we got a bit outlandish in what we were trying. But they did throw in a bottle of Sour Green Apple Nobacco Juice with the order, so we had our first opportunity to fill carts. Also when we saw it, and read the label, we both sort of turned our noses at "Sour Apple?" We tried it and were happily surprised. It was really good.

The other vendor we tried was Halo. I think we tried Tribeca, Prime15, Malibu and Menthol Ice. Malibu is supposed to be pina colada'ish with a touch of menthol. That's when I determined that I think anything that even hints at pineapple is not for me. Menthol Ice I have to give another try, but I found the menthol portion much more subtle and what SI had more enjoyable and better replicating what I knew. Tribeca and Prime15 she didn't like in the slightest. I found Tribeca beyond addictive. Prime15 I didn't mind but after having Tribeca, all I wanted was more Tribeca. I don't know if you call it an RY4 or variation but it's in the same light to me. I can easily see why many like something with a caramel sort of flavor or touch in combination with the right other flavors.

BTW, she started on 12mg and has been having a few smokes a day still and asked today if we could put some 18mg on order. I've pretty much been living by 24mg and occasionally using some of the 18mg. For anything that qualifies as a "smoke break" -- personally I'm living by the 24mg. If I find myself in a situation at home where I'm in essence chaining, I like the 18mg or below. In the first couple days that I was partially fighting the break from smoking, trying to figure things out, and at the same time playing around, switching flavors, and in essence overusing, I did run into a couple lovely Nic headaches.

Also, will the usb charger I got with the Cig20 be compatible with the Volt? anyone know?

After 2 days with the e-cig I tried to smoke a cig. I was not impressed. I actually preferred the e-cig. You have no idea how excited I was!!!! FINALLY, I might actually quick analogs. Woohoo!!! Been 7 days without. I am so psyched, you just have no idea. I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun to quit.

I've also been hitting a higher nic level in the morning before breakfast. Tried to have a smoke today and couldn't even inhale, I think this may be it.
