Hey guys, I spent alot of time on this forum over the past 6 months and I was inspired to make my own mod since I don't have the cash to throw down on anything nice.
I just went to a local store and bought the flashlight, went to "The Source" and bought the 3a switch.
I cut the metal casing off of my dead 510 battery (I washed it by accident) until I could see the contacts to solder. I know that is the hard way but I wanted a casing for the thread and figured it was best to leave a little of the casing there.
I dismantled the flashlight completely and drilled a whole for the switch to fit in, stripped the USB cable and soldered appropriately and then epoxied the switch in place.
I used the plastic LED housing to mount my thread and epoxied it into place as well.
To mount the housing back onto the flashlight body and to hold the USB cable secure, I just used electrical tape. This is so I can easily take the device apart when things inevitably go wrong with it.

All in all it does perform like a 5v device, and I have had it for months now and hasn't killed a single atty on me... In fact I have no dead attys in my collection at all yet, though I know they will eventually die.
Anyway, thought I'd share
