I have to say that I’m rather excited to be here with you today with a review of an actual mod/tank kit instead of another pod review. I don’t dislike pods but the market has become very saturated and I’ve reviewed a lot of pods. It’s a nice break to get a real mod/tank combination to break things up. First off let me say that I thought it was odd that Voopoo sent me the Argus XT and the U-Force L tank since I had previously reviewed both of them in separate reviews but found out that they are planning on releasing some new kits where the Argus XT, Argus MT, and Argus GT 2 will be available with the U-Force L tank instead of the MAAT Tank like what was previously released. So without further ado, I am here today to talk with you about the new Voopoo Argus XT 100W kit that was sent to me by Voopoo in order to provide a fair and honest review. Voopoo has come out with some really great products in the past so I have high hopes for this one. The XT mod is compatible with either 18650 or 21700 batteries and will deliver either 80 or 100 watts maximum depending on the battery installed. I personally think this is a smart and important feature. Too many times I’ve seen mods rated at 100 watts and only use an 18650 battery which in my opinion isn’t enough battery for 100 watts. The XT is powered by the Gene TT 2.0 chip and supports Smart, RBA, Turbo, and TC vaping modes. The XT is IP68 rated tri-proof and has a 3A Type C charging port with a dustproof cover. It also has the QS lock switch that I will talk about later.
Included in the kit is also the U-Force L Tank with a 4ml/5.5ml liquid capacity depending on the type of glass section you decide to use. It comes with a straight glass pre-installed but also includes a bubble glass to boost the liquid capacity. It has three airflow inlet holes to provide a 360 degree adjustable airflow. Also included in the kit are two new PNP coils that I will cover later in the review. Sounds pretty good right? I have a feeling it will be excellent but you’ll have to stick around to find out.
WHAT’S IN THE BOX?
There was not a picture listing the XT on the website at the time of writing my review so used the picture below which the only difference would be the XT would replace the MT on the list.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:
Voopoo really did a nice job on the packaging for the XT. It is in a metal tin much like the container that the Argus II arrived in. There is a color sleeve over the metal tin with a color picture of the XT and a few features. Mine of course was marked as a sample.
Once the tin is opened, the Argus XT and the accessory box is visible in the plastic insert. Inside the accessory box is a USB-C charging cable . There is also an 18650 battery adapter already installed in the XT mod since it is capable of using a 21700 battery or and 18650 battery with the adapter.
I received the XT mod and UForce-L tank in separate boxes but the plan is to include them in one kit like the XT was originally packaged with the MAAT Tank.
I received the carbon fiber version for my review. On the left side of the mod is the GENE TT logo but there is no other branding on the right side. Near the top on the back side is a lanyard ring. I’ve never been a fan of lanyards myself and to me the XT seems rather big to be carrying it around on a lanyard.
It’s interesting to me that the 510 top plate was made to be the same shape as the mod. It is pretty large and will accommodate a tank with a base up to 28mm without overhang. The 510 center pin is gold plated and spring loaded.
The battery for the XT is loaded through the bottom of the mod via a hinged door. There is a door release with an arrow on it indicating which direction to slide it to open the door. I have also found it handy to slide this when inserting a battery to help it to close easier. Once opened for the first time you will find the 18650 adapter inside. I immediately removed it since I prefer to use 21700 batteries when I have the option. The only battery polarity marking is on the underneath side of the battery door contact.
The front of the XT is definitely the star of the show here. Near the top of the mod is the QS Lock Switch. When the switch is all the way to the left then it locks the device completely from adjustment and firing. In the center position it is unlocked and all controls are available. In the right position only the adjustment buttons are locked. I personally love this feature. It’s great to be able to just flip a switch and not have to worry about accidental adjustment or firing. It’s difficult to see in my picture but there is a symbol underneath each position of the switch to help you remember which position does what. There is a lock on the left, a dotted line in the middle, and a circle with a line on the right.
Below the QS Switch is the nice sized fire button that has a nice click and feel to it. The display screen is next followed by the +/- adjustment rocker switch. Near the bottom is a flip down cover that protects the USB-C charging/update port. It not only helps to maintain the IP68 rating but also gives the front of the mod a very clean and smooth appearance.
The display screen gives the following information.
The menu system for the XT and MT are the same and use the same Gene TT chipset. The menu and button operation are as follows.
The tank that will be included in the new kits is the UForce-L tank which is the first PNP atomizer with three top airflow inlets. This tank has a huge amount of airflow available even with the airflow control nearly closed. I didn’t run it over ¼ open even running at 60 watts.
As always, yes I know I sound like a broken record, clean any new tank you receive. The UForce tank is easily broken down. It comes with a straight glass section pre-installed but a bubble glass is included to increase the liquid capacity from 4-5.5ml. I really like the look of this tank with the straight glass on it so ran it that way the entire time.
Included in the kit are two new PNP coils. There is a .15 ohm coil and a .2 ohm coil. These are two of the new TW series of PNP coils. There is also a third one that is available for separate purchase which is a .3 ohm coil. You might notice that the TW coils have a purple o ring while the prior VM series coils have a red o ring. This gives the user an easy way of keeping track of which coil they are installing. The UForce tank is compatible with all of the PNP coils.
The UForce tank has three airflow control openings. The airflow control ring has two dividing lines to separate the airflow inlet into three lines. The control ring does not have a positive stop so can turn 360 degrees unimpeded. The top cap for the tank is a bit recessed but is knurled at the top to help get a good grip on it. It screws/unscrews easily so being recessed did not cause any trouble with getting the top off for refilling. There are rubber gaskets over the fill port and exhaust port. It doesn’t matter which you fill from. Whichever you fill from then the other allows air to escape.
If you look at the bottom of the base of the tank you will see that there are grooves cut into it that give it the appearance of being a heat sink. Well, that is exactly what it is. A rather ingenious design in my opinion.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
I have to give kudos to Voopoo for releasing a fantastic mod and tank kit with the Voopoo Argux XT Kit. I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to get an actual mod kit after so many pods being released lately. Not only is it just another mod kit but Voopoo once again stepped up their game. Some other mods have switches to lock the devices but Voopoo went a step beyond and gave you a switch that has multiple functions instead of just on and off. They didn’t stop there. On top of the usual RBA and Smart modes we see on devices with the Gene chipset, they have added four temperature control modes for those that use it. I personally almost always use wattage mode so tested the mod in RBA mode. I kind of wish there was a way to change the display color on this one. Not only is it packed with features, but it looks good doing it. Whether you prefer the carbon fiber like the one I received or you want something more colorful, I think all of them look very good.
The new UForce-L tank definitely impressed me during my time testing it. The new TW series coils performed beautifully. It has more available airflow than I could ever use. So those that like big airflow will definitely like this one. The heat sink base design seems to really help dissipate the heat. The airflow is smooth and not noisy from my experience thanks to the control ring with the lines built into it.
I set the tank up with the .2 ohm coil and found my happy spot with this coil at 48 watts and had the airflow just barely cracked open. Even at this small airflow setting there was barely any restriction. I used the same 3mg lemon pound cake that I use for a lot of reviews and was very pleased with the fantastic flavor production. I was testing an rda at the same time as I was testing this coil and the coil brought out the lemon notes in the mix better than the rda did.
Next up was the .15 coil. I started a little lower and worked my way up to 60 watts with the airflow set about ¼ open. It was a bit of a cool vapor at that setting which is what I kind of like. This coil also brought out the lemon notes in the lemon pound cake mix very well. Of course at the higher setting a bit more vapor was produced and the tank emptied a little faster. I really like the look of the tank with the straight glass but if I was going to use the .15 coil long term then I think I would have to give in and run the bubble glass to get the full 5.5ml capacity.
I’d like to thank Voopoo and Nical for sending the Voopoo Argus XT Kit for this review. It truly has been a pleasure to test and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys very good flavor and likes a large dual battery mod that is packed with features. Thanks again to the readers. I appreciate you reading my reviews. Below is a link to the website for your viewing pleasure.
