Hello once again folks and welcome back for my review of the Drag H80S from Voopoo. I was sent the Drag H80S from Voopoo along with another new addition to the Drag family of devices called the Drag E60 that I already reviewed, If you missed it I'll leave a link to it. VOOPOO DRAG E 60 KIT REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322. The Drag H80S uses a replaceable single 18650 battery and has a maximum wattage output of 80 watts with 3 different power modes to choose from. The new Drag H80S uses a new pod called the PnP II that uses 2 new PnP coils, all coils in the PnP line are compatible with the new PnP Pod II. Lets get started.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS


Packaging is your basic inner box sliding out of a outer sleeve, no box top though. The device rest in a pre-formed plastic tray and the new coils are in a couple of tear away little packets along with the charge/firmware update cord, user manual and battery safety card are in a black rectangle box that sits on top of the Drag H80S.

The sample device I was sent is the Grey Carbon Fiber color that really looks nice, there is no spongy soft feel so I'm thinking it's a sticker. Picking the device up I noticed it has a narrow shape to it that fits the hand nicely. This is a very attractive device so appearance gets very high marks.

Starting at the top with the new PnP POD I am really happy it has a top fill that is so easy to use, just grasp the drip tip and turn counterclockwise to open, when closing there is a distinct click heard securing the top cap in place. The drip tip is proprietary but very comfortable to use.

Once opened you will see 2 fill holes with a membrane covering them for a mess free fill up and a very fast fill up at that.

Connection of the pod is magnetic using 3 strong magnets that connect to the metal base, inside are the 2 coil contacts. The inner airflow adjustment tabs are also pictured below.

Once the pod is filled and placed on the device it has the appearance that both the device and pod are one unit making for a very nice look. There are 2 window slots on each side of the device, the top one is a juice window with the bottom one being the airflow control which is super smooth having no turbulence at all. To adjust the airflow simply turn the pod itself that engages to the airflow tabs inside.

Voopoo has introduced 2 new PnP coils for the Drag H80S but remember that all PnP coils are compatible with the new PnP II pod including the RBA coil. Pictured below are the 2 new coils included with the Drag H80S. Pictured on the left is the DL PnP-TW15 ( 55-70W ) and on the right is the RDL PnP-TW30 ( 28-36W ). Both coils perform very well boatloads of flavor and plenty of vapor.

Turning out attention to the device itself, on the bottom is a rubber silicone that covers the base preventing any scratches to furniture and giving it a solid skid free platform to sit on.

Pulling the battery cover off exposes the housing that the single 18650 rest it, JUST DRAG is embossed inside, the battery is installed with the positive end connecting up top and the negative end connecting at the bottom to a spring loaded contact with no markings, when installing a battery connect the spring loaded contact at bottom first. The positive contact is nicely marked with a large plus symbol + that is painted white for easy identification of the positive contact.

Branding on the device is very minimal. in fact there are only 3 locations that have it being the base shown already, battery cover and one side on the device with the other side being blank.

There are 3 power modes on the Drag H80S and they are SMART MODE which gives a recommended wattage setting for the coil being used, RBA MODE that lets you use all the wattage up to the full 80watts, and ECO MODE that pops up and ask if you would like to enter it when the battery is at 40% . The screen brightness will dim and power will be slightly throttled back.

The menu system is so easy to activate ang navigate through having only the 3 power modes and the counter reset feature with the version and level code if your into that. To enter the menu press and hold both adjustment buttons at the bottom above the charge port simultaneously then once the menu opens move to where you want to go using either adjustment button and press the power/fire button up top to open that selection. Turning the device on/off is done by pressing the power/fire button 5 times quickly. To lock/unlock the entire device press and hold the Power/Fire button and top (up) button simultaneously.

FINAL IMPRESSIONS


By now I think you know my feelings on how nice it looks but looks don't make a device alone how it performs is the real test and I'm happy to report it performs very well. The new PnP coils works great but my preference of the two is the TW15 0.15Ω simply because it gives a warmer vape that I like. The airflow of the new PnP Pod is great giving a very smooth vape without any turbulence.

I always use the SMART mode on Voopoo devices because it works very well, I may not always agree with there recommendation of wattage but it's nice to have that safety wattage setting so you don't burn out a coil on accident. The ECO mode does pop up a screen asking if you want to enter ECO MODE when the battery is at 40%.

Using the ECO mode I did notice the drop in power and the screen dims conserving the remaining battery life left in the battery. I get about 6.5 hours on a full charge using the Smart mode with the 0.15Ω coil which is satisfactory to me, your vaping time may vary. Using Eco mode didn't seem to improve battery life all that much for me.

I think Voopoo did a nice job with the Drag H80S on all aspects and I will continue to use it. I would like to thank Nical and Voopoo for sending the Drag H80S for the purpose of this review and I hope I answered all your questions on the Drag H80S.
