Well, it seems that the WSJ wrote a fair and balanced article on e-cigs. The only mention of antifreeze was the fact that trace amounts of diethylene glycol was found in some samples (probably Chinese).

As for Rush... well, normally I disagree with him on about 95% of issues (I'm one of the dreaded liberals), but I must applaud his stance on this.

Second time I read this and I'm very happy about it all. The fact is the TRUTH about these things will be their salvation, we just need to make sure as many as possible know it. I love having Rush using a PV and giving his honest opinion of it, in the end everyone is human and he probably understands why so many are defending it. There is big money in the market of e-cigs, but I'd rather give my cash to a potentially life saving devices seller than a company that kills 400k a year on purpose.

BTW other really awesome thing I learned, Volcano e-cigs is based out of Kailua. Local vendor FTW.

This.

First Rush Limbaugh, now the Wall Street Journal... I'm starting to feel some hope.
The more people that use them, the louder our collective voice grows.

Now we need Barack Obama to join the ranks of vapers. After all, it is well known that he is a smoker. Someone should send him an eGo kit and some Backwoods Brew. :D

(Of course, the Secret Service would need to vape it first.. lol)

Congressman Cliff Stearns gave him one a long time ago.
No word on if he ever touched it.

I wonder what kind it was.

Rush Limbaugh has somewhere around 4 million listeners a day. If he could get a fourth of them to go vote in this poll it would be staggering. My mom listens to him sometimes and she told me about his discussing PV's (although she said "those electronic cigarette machines"). She thought it was a good sign for those of us who use PV's. I hope so.

This should be a headline poll so people can see it when they come to the site!

Well, if it was a BluCig, we "blu" it! lol

I was surprised to see in the article that Johnson Creek makes the liquids for Blu.

Rush has the organization and the clout to corner the FDA on this. They know that they could end up being the bad guys and stuck in the middle between whoever is pushing them behind the scenes and the American public. The FDA has its own set of PR issues without taking away or hindering the one thing that can instantly take people away from tobacco cigarettes.

Little facts like 7% quit rate on nicotine gum or lozenges and over 80% on Ecigs. That's the kind of things Rush could tell 40 million people (and he could mention how much better they taste).

It's an interesting quandry for the likes of Rush. In the past, the Republican conservatives have been on the side of Big Tobacco with regards to lawsuits against BT, regulation, etc. Since BT is obviously behind the push to regulate e-cigs, Rush finds himself parting ways with his BT buddies, at least on this issue.

Great poll. Maybe the word is getting out. And hopefully the FDA figures out it needs to tackle real issues instead of using their power against us.

Think our ultimate enemy is the anti smoking crowd. All the talk about 'protecting kids' poor science and out right lies is sure sign of someone who is more concerned about pursuing their agenda instead of actually helping smokers. BT fought them and basically lost if you look at bans/taxes/regulations/advertising/etc. I agree they have some skin in the game as well as BP, but real enemy is the bureaucratic idiots we are funding with tax dollars.

Remember the anti lobby is a slick professional group with plenty of Phd's and MD's to trot out decrying this new health menace. If politicians get caught playing cozy with BP/BT they at least get may get burned, but who can argue against the poor mother trying to save her kid from the mall kiosk. Anti's just cant help the urge to tell us how to live our lives and seem to have plenty of time to nag politicians into doing their bidding.

Frankly, I have no problem with banning the mall kiosks, so long as they stay away from the likes of Cignot and TastyVapor.

Also, it wouldn't be unreasonable for suppliers to start requiring customers to fax copies of their driver's licenses as an extra step to disuade possible underage purchasers. I've seen that done by online wine sellers.
