VV and VW question

I will try to keep it short and to the point. When I first got the Evic I only adjusted the Voltage and did not touch the Watts. I started playing with the watts by holding the selector ring to the right until I got to the VW mode. Ever since then I go back to VV and try to boost it up a bit the watts go so high I get a burned taste.

For example:

Before I changed the watts for the first time I set it @ 4.0 volts it was around 5.2w-5.5w range.

Now when I set it at 4.v its at 8.8w! 5.0v is 10.8w!

Just wondering if they can be changed independently of each other , I seem to have the best luck at around 4.5v-4.7v @5.0w-5.5w range.

That would be due to you using different resistance clearomizers/atomizers/tanks/whatever you're using for juice delivery.
Example: You initially had something with a 3 Ohm resistance, set it to 4 Volts. That'll give you 5.3 Watt. Then you changed your delivery device to something with a 2 Ohm resistance, but kept it at 4 Volt, that would bump up the wattage to 8 Watt.
It's all about Ohm's Law, and the voltage and wattage will always go hand in hand

part of your confusion is this, watts and volts cannot be changed independent of each other, they are directly proportional to each other according to ohms law.
with the evic, I have one as well, when you are in VV mode, you are setting the voltage the coil will see, the wattage will be what it is at your coil resistance at that voltage. when you are in VW mode, the evic is changing the voltage to get the wattage you are setting for your coil resistance.

If you want a consistent vape without the concern of burning, then set your power with watts and forget volts. If you are using a 2.5 - 3.0 single coil, start at 7.5 - 8.0 watts and adjust up or down to your sweet spot.
