I'm still new to the ecig game. But i have found and use as my daily driver one of the best clearomizers in the market (Nautilus Mini BVC 1.8 ohm) and starting to figure out what kind of eliquids i like.

However i'am not really getting the hype about VV batteries. A ton of people i read here have MVP, Istick, Ego Twist and other kind of VV batteries. Especialy this walkie talkie looking battery MVP. It looks like something good to have to vape at home (2000 plus mah), but even if i had it i'm not sure i would want to drastically increase the voltage/watt.

Trying out a VV battery at the vape store, i can definitely get more vapor production, taste is bit stronger, but on the flipside the juice goes out faster, drains BVC coil life faster.

I'm personally ok with the power that the standard ego batteries (non vv) provide and looking for one around 900-1000mah but shorter in size, so its easier to carry around.

Why do you like using VV battery with your Nautilus mini (or equivalent clearomizer?). Is it necessary?

You are using the Nautilus Mini with BVC 1.8 ohm.
You are using standard ego batteries (non vv) - which means either it's (probably) regulated fixed volts at 3.7 volts or thereabouts or it could be the type where the voltage drops off gradually as you use it.

If you go to buy replacement coil heads and they don't have the 1.8 but they have the 2.2 or the 1.5 what do you do?
If you get the 2.2, maybe you find the vape not as good; if you get the 1.5 maybe you find the vape a bit too hot.

With a vv power source, you can adjust your voltage up or down to compensate for the change in the coil.

Also with eliquids; you might vape one eliquid at low power and another at a higher power.

Also, coil usage; I usually find with bottom coil clearos, I run lower power with a fresh coil, and higher power the more I use the coil.

Merely rewicking my protank coils with cotton I use higher power compared to if I used the stock silica wick.

I'd recommend you look at something like the itazte vv v3 or ego-v3 mega; but depending on how long you've been vaping and off the cigarettes, you might want to skip that stage and go straight to an 18650 mod where you can change out the batteries inside, instead of having to toss the whole device.

On the other hand, people who only smoked like half pack a day can probably get by on simple ego sized batteries - costwise.

How are you liking the combination?

I really like it. I like to keep my setup low on power, so I'm only using 3.3v on the istick; with the 1.8ohm BVC coil in the Nautilus mini. The vapor quantity is quite good when I use the largest air hole for lung hits, and flavor is great with 2nd smallest air hole.

Just my 2 cents. My Nautilus mini arrived today. Filled it with my favorite juice, primed/broke the coil in and set it atop my iStick. Looks great and initial impression (IMO) is that it vapes better than the Aerotank V2. Incredible flavor and at first glance doesn't seem to burn through as much juice as the Aerotank with dual coils.

:toast:
Try use the largest airhole, you can almost visibly see the juice level go down with each draw.

Its a great clearomizer. The ceramic component and only single coil prob are some of the reasons why it doesnt go through the juice like its thirsty. But it produces more vapor than a dual coil system. Its great

The person that created this coil must be like a king with the aspire company

Anybody heard anything about the mvp 3.0? Will it be as compact as the istick?

Just buy the iStick already Rondo. LOL. Have you been poking in the istick thread I linked? Someone posted a reddit link where innokin previewed their MVP3

Here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Innokin/comments/2ilnip/innokin_itaste_mvp30_official_reddit_announcement/

The gist is that it will continue to have the recharge feature no one uses, and that it will have higher battery capacity. My guess is that they wanted to keep the familiar size of it, but used the space more efficiently to store higher capacity batteries. MVP fans actually like the size of it, but I always thought it was too big. I also would wait a couple of months to verify that they fixed the firing pin issue, because that is an absolutely nuisance when it starts happening to you. Mine started having issues after 3 weeks I think.
