Hello Everybody,

I am in the planning phase of building my very first VV box mod and I have a question. I'm looking to use a step down converter similar to this - New LM2596HV LM2596S DC-DC Step Down CC-CV Adjustable Power Supply Module | eBay - and I was wondering if the potentiometer is able to be moved so it isn't attached to the board.. I want to be able to adjust the voltage from the outside of the box as to not take it apart every time i need to adjust. Thanks a bunch!!

I want to mount the pot to the top of the box but the chip is too big to fit so I was wondering if i could desolder the pot from the board and "remotely" wire it to the top of the box

Yes on desoldering and you can also use a different 10k pot. Many examples in the following thread.
