VV Gripper display always lit

So, today I received my VV Gripper, and as soon as I inserted the battery, the display lit up and stayed lit. It works properly as far as displaying the numbers, and the numbers disappear when they should, but the light stays on no matter what. Even if I do the 5 clicks and the display says "off", the light stays on. I don't think that's how it's supposed to work. Is this a setting that I can adjust, or do I have a buggy device?

Its buggy device, sorry, if its works,i would just use it as is ,if not send it back......

You gotta get an rma on that one bad.. Even with the flimsy plastic and loose connector, I love the vv gripper.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I think I'll just hang on to it. It works well enough, and it's very comfortable in my hand, but it's now playing second fiddle to my shiny new Groove. If the Groove were the same shape and size as the VV Gripper, it would be exactly perfect.
