max 10w, max 1a
id say no, it will probably cut out unless you vape veeeery coooool

That is what I thought but needed to ask :) Thanks I have been searching the net for more options but the 3A looks like the best I can find for now. I would love to find a smaller unit like this that would do what I needed.

Thanks again.

Can this one be used in place of the 3A its a little less $ but will it work.

Adjustable step down switching voltage regulator

It would be lacking amps at higher voltages. You could get away using a 2 amp for regular ohm atomizers. But 1 amp is going to be pretty poor vapor production and might even kick protection in on the reg if it has it. Your much better off spending the extra bucks on the 3 amp model.

I think I am just going to go with the 3A.

Any one played with this. I saw something on here a while back. Any good or bad feed back. Looks like a simple way to Add a Vv to a project.

I've used them for quite a while. I take the outer sheath off which is really a heatsink. Then I grind the sides of the pcb so it fits in a AA slot. Never had a problem with one. I bought some very small brass tubing. Small enough to slide over the voltage screw and solder a 1/2" piece on and run it through the top of the box. So I can adjust the voltage from the top of the mod. Those are not the same mods in the pics. I just stuck 2 single boxes together to show you what the whole unit looks like when I'm done

Thats about as simple and small as it gets as far as adding a 3amp switching regulator with a onboard pot.

NO heat whatsoever. They stay as cool as day is long and are built like tanks ! I've sold all my nice ones to friends and family but the one I have is still kicking after 8 months. So if you need a few more pics I'll break my camera out later. I added a two post connector inside this one to check voltage.

Thanks, I think my search is over now to order few and get started on this project. :)

Your Welcome,
As far as heat it will run very cool compared to linear regs. Heat shouldn't be a issue at all with a switching reg. The added bonus is that they are quite a bit more efficient also , so less recharging will be required.

Exactly Java. Very good run time. I get about 6-7 hours with heavy to moderate use with dual coils. More if I turn the voltage down. But I like it hot !

Thanks every one, Why are there not more people using these. I know there more expensive then the MV ones. but if the performance is better then why not pay the extra.

And it looks a lot simpler to set up to.

squirrel: When I get ready for wiring I may send you a PM. I love the set up you to and would love to build my self one.
