Hi,
A member from the German ERF Forum wrote that the GWS2011 looks like steam-punk design.
From that moment i cant stop that "pictures in my mind" :)
I made it with VV and powered by 2x18650:

the Electronic is based on a MP2307 module KIS-3R33S Z step-down Converter.
i can set the Voltage between 1,0V -5.5V ~ 4A by turning the switch-knob

i can screw up the "Ring" under the Switch-knob for "pocket save" transport.

Bottom view

looks nice on my desk :)

greetings from germany
Juergen

This is beautiful inside and out, and very precise too. It looks amazing and here is the look on my face:

I really need to step up my game :D really I do.

From conception to realization you have got it spot on.

Simply stunning derJuf, I've "attempted" a mod with that level of craftsmanship but I'm just not there, but until someone has tried it I'm not sure they really appreciate that this is a whole different level of modding...

asdaq, I've seen your Brass Bat...your game if fine where it is...

Thanks but still I feel like I'm slacking here, I'll have to go off into hammered-and-rusted phase or something. Did you bend tubing or rod so nicely there and with tubing benders or a jig? I got SAE tubing benders and made a mess of some 2mm tubing, and need to work harder on making a better jig as my bends are 'lucky' results, yours are perfectly shaped, any tips? :)

Or if it's just cosmetic, use solid brass rod (heavy means quality:)) but ya, go smaller to allow for "spring back" and you're good...god, that's it! time to get back into the copper and brass, the only way to get better is experience, enough with the plastic boxes for now...although my busbar box v.2 is going to be a bit of a hybrid...

Cool. That is 2mm 0.3mm wall tubing, yes? Bending 2mm rod that short by hand would seriously hurt. :D

How are you not crushing it or getting creases? Do you fill it with sand or something similar?

Sand works....but another method is to fill the tube with a rod of aluminum. Shape it like you would any solid rod. Then place the finished piece in a concentrated lye solution. The lye will dissolve the aluminum leaving the copper intact.

*Use safety procedures as it produces hydrogen gas*

for diameters up to 4mm bending around 15mm dia or bigger i dont need to fill the tube.
For greater Dias or smaller bendings i use the "frozen water".
With the aluminium inside i cant stick and solder the ends together ...i use a short piece of copper or brass with the inner dia of the tube.
btw:
Frozen Water is also very excellent when cutting foam material: put it into water, then into freezer... after that you can saw, file, or drill like wood ... with freezing Interruptions every 10 minutes ... :)
