Mechanicals, are just that, basic mechanical parts put together, have to add in addon fuses or booster circuit attachments to add some more safety or boost power beyond battery oomph. Variable Power mods generally on top of their power adjustments, have a lot more built in safety circuits and such to protect the
device, attachements, and you. Personally, my advice, mechanicals are up in the advanced usage later down the road once you get more experience, so probably look at a mod first for a while. If your MVP can't be fixed, look also into a back up system like an Ego Twist, Vision Spinner, or KGo VV for in the case of something breaking down on your all day
device.
Example I currently have 3 systems
3 Joye 510 Manual
cigalikes with t4 clear/micromizers, and standard Boge cartomizers
2 Joye Ego-T Passthroughs with 4 T3s, 2 T2s (CE5s), 2 Evods
1 SBL Ego-V Mega V2 with a protank and smoktech glass DCT
One Breaks down I got backups to fall back on.
