My VV Woodie has been tempermental lately. The atty wouldn't fire from time to time, pull atty off, screw back on, works. Well fiddling with it is no longer working. I use a 510 to 510 adapter on it as I do all of my bottom feeders, took that out of the mix and still no go.

Just wondering if anyone has any tips to avoid shipping it.

Thanks.

Take it easy-n-at,
Jeff

Hey Tap. Mine is doing the same thing. I found that the center pin connector moves very easily up and down and is connected to the hose that goes into the juice bottle. I have to take off my bottle and push up on the hose to move the connector up so it makes contact with the atty again. I am not sure how they were suppose to be a fixed so this doesn't happen.. Anyone else know/? I'd like to know also.. It is very irritating. lol

You sure it's not the actual firing button- Rob had some problems with them early on...some were sent back to be fixed or replaced.

I am sure Tenn on mine.

But maybe its Taps switch/ I think his connector has pushed down just enough to not make a good connection on center post. A Meter would prove it real fast..

Check your Atty. If the Oms drop off or the Volts are set to high for the atty it will not fire.

I had one atty that was doing this. I put on a new one and all was good. Worth a shot.

Also if there is the slightest short in the atty it will not let the mod fire.

If all else fails PM Rob :)

Thanks MX, mine doesnt matter what atty. I can see the center post move on mine. Maybe Taps problem though..

If it keeps doing it Send Rob a PM or give him a call. I am sure with the VV mods being some what new he wold wont to know of an issue.

it almost sounds like the insulator tube in the atty connector has some how got lose and allowing the pin to drop to fare.

Just to be safe send Rob a PM explaining the issue.

will do.. it is the insulator that slips. just a tad too loose.

Hello Doots the center pin is suppose to move up and down. If it was rigid people would be blowing gaskets in there atomizers there has to be some give.
The gaskets can get squeezed to a point were they don't make contact .I have never crushed a gasket to a point it wouldn't make contact with normal use . Using adapters or a atomizer with a protruding center pin can damage the gasket . If your gasket is flattened to a point your not making contact send the mod in I will replace the gasket .

Just so you no I am always looking for a better material for the gaskets. I no it can be a pain when the gasket gets flattened .The silicone gaskets are what is available but I have always hoped they would make something that would take more punishment

I understand. I never torque down an atty on a connector. Just until it makes contact,
This pin is real low in the channel. I have added a touch of super glue to keep it in place and so far so good..
Thanks for the info. Ill send it to you should there be any more problems..
Glad you are feeling better too! :)

I've got one that may also need a little of your magic, Rob. The center post (or sumthin) was loose from day one allowing an atty to wobble. No worries. Everything worked fine so I just ignored it. Now the wobble is getting much more pronounced and atty's go cold. Fiddling with the atty will get it firing again. Suggestions please?
