After three months of only vaping, it still hasn't occurred to me that I quit smoking. I haven't had, or even held, a tobacco product since I started vaping.

Today I stopped by the local liquor store to pick up a pop and some ejuice, and, as I approached the counter, the owner recognized me and went over to grab a bag of my RYO Rave tobacco. I waved him off of that task and pointed to his selection of about 20 or so different flavors of ejuice.

After I paid for my ejuice and pop, he went back to the RYO tobacco to put everything back in order.

That's when it occurred to me that something has changed. Just over three months ago, I would have bought that bag, even if I had some at home just to make sure that I never ran out.

Months ago I threw out my rolling papers, rolling machine and loose filters, all I have left from that era is a Bic lighter - I need that to oxidize kanthal wire :)

After three months I can:
- Bike up 1 mile long hillls.
- Taste food. Now that I can taste ale, I found out that I don't like the taste. What? No problem, lagers are still yummy.
- I've memorized Ohms law.
- Walk over 3 miles a day without effort.
- My blood sugar is now registering as normal (90) where as before I was struggling to keep it under 200. I look forward to my next A1C test.
- I've lost 5lbs...without dieting.

I've tried to quit smoking so many times, I'm having trouble believing that quitting could be so much fun.

Is this for real?

Congratulations! For me it's only 1 week today, looking forward to my A1C test too!

Didn't realised it contributed towards your glycemic control? you learn something new everyday...

Anyways for this type 1 insulin dependent diabetic its 3 whole weeks since i made the conscious decision to stop and have managed VERY well since then (only sharing 1 Pk of analogs with the mrs when we were on a day trip and she "forgot" to pack spare batteries and e-juice... grrr... still, it wouldnt have been a fun time for the family on the beach if daddy had been a grumpy bear with no nicotine...). Lets see what the HBA1C test at my next review reveals...

The easiest answer... is another question.

Are you a Vaper? Or a Smoker?

The first day I realized I was a vaper, was glorious... I felt free... amazing.

This very day marks my 6 month cig-free anniversary and I still feel like I cheated somehow. It wasn't supposed to be nearly this easy to quit. I see people smoking and I almost feel guilty. To alleviate any potential feelings of guilt, I keep a stack of business cards from my local B&M in my wallet for when strangers ask me how well my "Blu" cigarette works (it's actually a Provari, but I don't correct them ). I've had a few people call it that. I just tell them the short version of my story and hand them a card. It's encouraging to see how many smokers are interested in vaping.

Congrats on joining the ranks, and keep it up! Vaping only gets better with time!
