One thing I've noticed in all the marketing and promotions of e-cigs is that they are not being touted much as the 'GREEN' alternative, which is of course a big buzzword in today's society. Because there is NO waste from smoking e-cigs. No ifs, ands or Butts!

According to Bill Nye the Science guy:
The biggest litter problem.
4.5 Trillion Annually worldwide.
250 Billion in the US
They damage marine life in the oceans.
Mostly plastics... 19 Years to break down in nature.

I think that in addition to No Tar, Carcinogens and 2nd Hand Smoke that we should be promoting this environmental impact.

What do you think?

I kind of agree AND disagree........

Sure, there are no butts disposed unlike tobacco cigarettes which are just about everywhere you look nowadays, however, the issues of landfill sites being littered with batteries and non environmently friendly cartridges still pose a huge issue in your argument.

Add to that the two piece design with its atomizer contained in the cartridge, and now the "disposables" that are seen entering the market.

Really, to take the "green" stance on our beloved devices and promote it as such would really become another punch in the face for us considering the already magnitude of false and unverifiable claims being made currently.

Good Points, I'm not convinced that CO2 is all that big of a problem either based on research I've done, but I'm not a scientist. Some studies show increased CO2 can actually help plant yields. I think recycling is a good practice and it should be expanded, but it mostly comes down to average people like us polluting a little less and trying to reuse the trash we do make. Creating models where it's profitable for cities to "mine" their landfills for resources. I do like alternative energy like solar/wind just because I think it would be cool to produce my own energy.

It appears that most of the e-cig parts should be recyclable, especially the batteries. As far as carts on the ground like butts, since they are not flammable they would more likely be thrown in trash. I know I was always in the habit of flicking butts out the window and anywhere outside wherever I was, but perhaps it these type of behaviors that cause the anti-puffers to hate us.

Concentrated Nicotine could be a huge problem for marine life... I noticed some of my Juices (TW & JC) have explicit warnings about it's potential impact so I guess i'll just have to vape it all before disposing:p! No answer there but since I'm using 1 device (ok 3) for the equivalent of 1000 or more analogs the case can be made again for "LESS" harm.

Saying they are GREEN alternative, In my view is a valid point not only from the litter perspective but also from the fire safety side of it. The west coast has had many forest fires started by analogs! Considering their overall impact just about anything could be a "green" alternative. I think it could merit a bullet point in the over all list of why the vaping alternative is better than analogs, and why they shouldn't be banned.
