Shortstuff116,
Thanks for your concern. I will give my ecig a good try. I really want to quit smoking but so far I've had no good luck. I think most of my problem is I'm very psychologically dependent on the act of smoking, probably a little moreso than the nicotine itself. When I have used NRT such as the patch I am ok for about a day and a half then I get really figity and start panicking a bit because I'm not smoking. That's my downfall. So I really hope that the ecig will prevent that panic and also give me nicotine.
I have read that ecigs only give about 1/3 to 1/2 the amt of nicotine that an analog does but I think it'll be okay. I may just end up vaping more than I smoke. I'm hopeful.
xdunlapx you're already off to good start with your positive attitude. I agree with you and think that the "rituals" can be more important than the actual addiction to nicotine and PV's can really simulate the smoking procedure pretty good. The hand-to-mouth action, seeing the vapor which is almost identical to analog smoke (visually) but so much more convenient.
The nicotine intake you can adjust higher or lower to satisfy your physical needs and the rest is mental, just training your brain to accept vaping as your new smoking. And the very best part is that we are all here to help and support each other which to me IS what makes a real difference between success and failure.
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised! Keep us updated!
