'kay. The charger uses 420 mA current and a stock AC to USB adapter normally included with it provides 500 mA. The deal is you never want to plug the charger into a USB power source that provides less than that. Your wall wart says it can provide up to 750 mA current - just means your AC adapter is capable of providing more current than the Spinner charger will ever try to draw from it. :)

Plugging that 420 mA charger into a low power 200 mA AC to USB adapter means trying to pull more current out of the power supply than it is capable of delivering. That's when power supplies overheat, chargers don't work right, and bad stuff happens. :(

Do you mean a USB wall adapter you can plug your eGo USB charger into? If so, Rickajho is right (except that lower output adapters can also promote discharging batteries in a dangerous way).


Never use any other battery charger for devices than the original one (especially Lithium Ion devices like e cigs)... that's how bad accidents happen and fires get started!

Yes, I do mean usb wall adapter by "wall-wart"...sorry for any confusion with that. The wall adapter I already had, and the charger was sold to me when I bought my spinner ii. The charger should be good, I just wanted to clarify in my sleep-deprived brain that the wall adapter will work with my charger and spinner ii. 750mA is greater than 420 mA..so, safe? My internet keeps cutting out. :(

I just never ran across anything mentioning a wall adapter with a 5.1v output. Plus I read too many explosion stories earlier.

Eta: The wall adapter was not included in my charger purchase. Just doubly+triple checking.

That is kind of odd - and .... - that they would stipulate the supply output voltage is 5.1 volts. In an ideal world all USB power supplies would provide a perfect 5.0 volts. In reality they almost never do and the output voltage usually fluctuates depending on the device(s) connected to it and how much current it draws. Having probably over-explained that - it's fine. lol

My pleasure. I know how it feels to plug stuff up and feel it might blow up on you (especially when I work with 600 volt quarter-million $ stuff). Just never leave batteries charging unattended. They don't mention that one with any equipment, but that is the safe practice all battery manufacturers recommend (even for cell phones!)

LOL, and I thought I was explaining too much. Rounding numbers is mostly standard practice in electronics... nothing is ever 100% precise, though, and yet it works.

Most electronics are designed to use a range of voltages due to power fluctuations that happen in pretty much all power sources. Lights dimming due to your AC kicking on for example.
