Want to buy a Kayfun but what type do i want to get??

+1 on the Rocket. I bought one just to see what this kayfun nonsense was all about. Filled it right up without even cleaning it or changing out the installed wick. Been using it for two days straight now! I'm thinking about retiring both my AGA + units in favor of this thing. Its nothing short of completely awesome! Never ever had flavor like this before.

Just got mine today! Still can't stop doing cartwheels around the house! These Kayfun thingies are simply awesome. Specifically, the EHPRO Kayfun lite +. Build quality is almost nothing short of perfect. I received the Rocket from FT yesterday, and while its build quality falls short, it works very well!! No complaints. I actually feel guilty and am going to buy the real deal to support those that actually originally brought this unit to us.
++ for the EHPRO Kayfun lite+. Picked mine up online and was a little nervous after reading both sides of the "debate" about quality. I was pleasantly surprised when I got it and disassembled for cleaning. Great machining. It is just a touch lower in quality and feels a little lighter than the Russian. The parts do indeed interchange. I'm eyeballing the air hole and it is close to 2mm.
Just received two new Russian 91% clones from FT. I must say the fitand finish on these is much better than the last pair I got from FT. I did my normal cleaning and then while I had them completely apart, applied the minor tweaks I have used on my other clones: 1) Drill out air hole to 1/16", 2) bevel air hole opening, 3) Bevel chimney top, and 4) cut the juice channels a little deeper. None of this may have been necessary, but it has worked so well on my others, I decided to "fix" the new ones as well.
I was very pleased to see that the positive block no longer sits higher than the negative on the build deck. Overall machining is improved and threads are smooth.
Once coiled (8 wraps, 30ga Kanthal, 1.67 Ohms, cotton wick) and filled these have been performing perfectly. It was worth the 20 day wait.

ancientgeek.... Do the Russians from FT come with extra insulators? I would swear I saw one pic showing them with the O-rings, then when I went back another day the pic was changed. Curious to know if you rec'd any....
I've been leery of FT for these devices, but seeing several positive posts like yours makes me consider it more and more...... TIA

Amen to that....could introduce all sorts of crud left on the device.
