Hello!

Well I made a post almost YEAR ago about buying ecigs. Unfortunately, that never worked out. I'm in a much better place now in life than I was then and I'm ready to kick this habit. I'm just so incredibly sick of smoking. Nows the time!

Once again I don't know what to buy, or who to buy from (need someone super duper trusted!!). My boyfriend and I will both need one of our own. Maybe we can pick two different kinds and fight over which one we like best? :D

I honestly don't care what it looks like (something with little blue/pink LEDs would be cool, but i want quality over looks), and I'd love a large assortment of flavors to choose from. Battery life will need to get us through school days. How does that work exactly? Is it 2-6 hours off its charger or 2-6 hours of puffing on it? Leaving home to getting home from school is about 6 hours, but realistically we'd only be vaping on the way there, and on the way home.

Need something kind of failsafe, or something with very easy directions if I'm going to have to refill stuff myself. I'm sure he'll figure it out, but hes not always home. XD

Thanks!! <33

Just wanted to add smoking habits..

We smoke around the same amount... Somtimes just over a pack a day, sometimes a little less.. We easily go through an entire carton a week between us both.
He does enjoy menthol, and we both hate lights... I'm more of a full flavor person, but most importantly we both like to "feel" the smoke in our throat.
He loves clove cigs too (Djarum blacks)... They are actually what I started on, but are too strong for me now.

If you don't mind cigar shaped, the Ego and ECHO models are all the rage.

Cig shaped - BLOOG or Volt

Or jump all the way in for mods.

There are pros and cons to automatic or manual batteries.
Getting the right nicotine strength and some bearable (or amazing) flavors is very important as you get used to vaping.
Welcome back and good luck.

Don't mind any shape ^_^ Just need something I won't break while I'm learning, but will also last me 3-6+ months (if I like it!).

Is there a good starter kit on sale from a trusted vendor? I dont know who the trusted vendors are now days. I remember last year some people were having CC issues with some sketchy places.

Welcome to the forum!

If you want a small pv (mini) you could try a KR808 or a 510.

Popular models of the KR808 are the Vapor4Life Vapor King, Volt from Smokeless Image, Bloog, or a generic KR808 kit. LiteCigUsa carries them.

They're two piece- battery & cartomizer. you get prefilled cartos or purchase empty cartos and fill them yourself. General rule of thumb is about an hour of continous vaping per mah. So a 180 mah battery about 2 hours of continous vaping. If you don't vape continously, it's longer. Because the battery is smaller, they need to be charged more and don't last quite as long as bigger batteries. Makes sense.

510's can be picked up at any of the registered vendors here on the board. I just got one for my nephew from ivape for $34.99 and it comes with a pcc (personal charge case).

510 Ego Style- Battery from 650-1300 mah (Ego, Riva Echo-e, t-Rex)

Batteries last longer (8 hours) look less like a cig. Can be two or three piece. Two piece with battery & carto, or battery and atomizer to drip, or three piece with battery cart& atty.

You can purchase the ego at Liberty Flights for $29.99.

Any of the registered vendors on here are great and you can go wrong. Read the juice review section and order sample sizes and try juice in different nicotine strengths until you find a good one for you.

Good luck!

If you need help finding anything I can post links if you like.

You'll get many different answers to this as everyone has their favorites... here's my list :) :

For a cheap good mod from a great supplier: The Vapor Junction E-Power (Black) [VJKEP] - $39.95 : VaporJunction, E-Cigarette Supply and use "july10" coupon code. I'm recommending this and I've never even tried it, but it's cheap and this vendor is one of my favorites.
For pure simplicity: Igo or Echo. For small size: Volt, Nhaler mf style, or Signature Series (all the same thing)
If money is not a problem look into mods such as the Reo, provari, infinity, etc.

Hope this helps....

All of the above are good and I also recommend myPVshop.com. Randall is very helpful to newbies, has great prices and a warranty that is really a (I know!)warranty. Also, he ships super fast and 2 kits would get you free shipping. The ego clone he has there is getting good reviews- check the forum. His authentic eGo is an eGo and I love mine! Get a riva or ego type at least, the little batts drove me nuts with the charger!

A friend of mine got one of the three-piece ones from the local mall. Didn't like it too much and spent WAY to much on it. Went back to the same mall store and got a two-piece. He likes that one alot better but still spends too much money. I got a KR808D-1 starter kit from myvaporstore for $32.50 and would recomend that not only because it's what I use but because it really is SUPER easy. Whatever you get, you should also get a pcc so you'll always have a spare battery and a few different flavors.

KR808-d1 is the generic name for cig sized batteries with 808 shaped connectors. Bloog & Volt are branded versions of KR808-D1.
Ego is the official Joye cigar shaped large battery. Riva is a generic Ego (I believe).
ECHO is an Ego shaped automatic battery with 808 shaped connectors.

I highly recommend the Ego or ECHO for a beginner if you are willing to forego the cig shape. (just my opinion).
Ego being manual 510 connector
ECHO being automatic 808 connector

Don't forget lots of juice

For links for an 808 try:

Smokeless Image for the Volt
Vapor 4 Life for a very nice and easy 808 kit (in a rainbow of colors!) and tons of easy to use flavor cartomizers (you mentioned lots of flavor choice!)

I like a lot of other 808 vendors, but those are a great start.

I also recommend

Vapor Kings - for Ego
and Vapor's Heaven - for Vgo (808 version), Ego (510 version), and Leo kits all with bigger, longer lasting batteries.

Both of the above also have top notch customer service, good prices, and fast shipping.

If you see something you're interested in checking out, Google it. You'll get written and video reviews and a link to vendor sites, as well. You can then search the vendor and get reviews on that seller, as well (here at ECF and other places). My bookmarks Vape folder has around 75 links in it now. lol

Honestly, you won't go wrong with any of the recommendations you've gotten so far. There's a ton of choices, so it can get over whelming. Pick one that strikes you and go for it!

Good luck and vape on!

Ok I found this: (they are sold out of the cargo kit)
MadVapes 510 Ego Kit with Carrying Case

I also noticed they had this:
Black 808-D Kit

Now, would you recommend both eGos? or maybe one of each to test them out? Religion, you kinda make it sound like they are all based on the same model. So I guess 2 of the Egos kits would be best?

Also, I would assume it best to just get the big kit for a beginner? It has everything I need except for juice? Do I need to order empty carts?

Thanks so much for the help you all are giving me!

I'd also spring for a case. I am on day 7 with my eGo (love), which I bought without a carrying case. I was constantly paranoid about having it in my purse because I kept imagining random crap falling on it and causing it to vape unattended! I ordered the eGo case and all is well - it's sturdy and keeps everything together on the go!

For the money the e-power and NoGo are nice kits. Enough battery there to safely use the SmokTech dual coil cartos with them. If a switch goes bad (dualies might put a strain on the switches) no tools are needed to swap them out.

The kits with some liquid should be enough to get you started for a week or so.

You might want to get a few Drip Tips!
With cartomizers or atomizers, these things are wonderful.

These will let you drip straight from the bottle into a standard atomizer or cartomizer. Great for tasting juices, and really brings out the flavor of them. You can try them with an atty before loading up a 'cartomizer' or 'cartridge'. Also great for the juices you just want to vape occasionally...not 'all day'. They also help keep extra 'heat' off your lips, and just make life easier when it comes to 'topping the liquid' in cartos.

Depending on what your kit has with it:

If atomizers...pick up some cartomizers (they hold lots of juice and don't leak).
If the kit comes with cartomizers, then grab a standard 510 atomizer or two.

With the 3.7v stuff (eGo, epower, Riva, etc...) you might want to get a box of LR Cartomizers (In the 2 Ohm Range), and an LR Atomizer or two to try out between two of you. The lower resistance provides a little hotter vapor. Full flavor smokers often appreciate that.

If you get the E-power or NoGo, definitely try a box of Dual Coil cartomizers :)

I got the ego from Liberty Flights- still using it and still using the same batteries. Best $30 investment ever.

Joye Ego, Riva same thing. The Riva is $10 cheaper

E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings

Get the T-Rex Carto Deluxe for $34.99 and a Riva 29.99

That way you'll have cartomizers, atomizers, & carts

Ok to answer your question. The Riva and the Ego are the same, If your wanting something to last all day I would go with the EGO. Me and my wife we got one kit it comes with 2 batterys so take the $ you would spend on another kit and get some cartos and attomizers I prefer the Low resistant it feels like the real thing to me. Then also with the money saved get some good juices, what flavors do you like. I know many of my friends love vaping on Peach with some mint in there. I will suggest Gourmet Vapor you can make your own flavors its fun and I love it. good luck on your decision.
