Want to see why the budget USB power supply might not be adequate either

A rather large test of USB wall warts, it appears that even some of those aren't safe for charging either, either they are WAY to noisy or they cannot even provide the required current to run the chargers

Thank you WarHawk. I always assumed they would at least do what they were rated to. Seems you can't trust anything these days

Just imagine you were told "just use a wall wart" to charge your PV (instead of your computer, in which it must be HEAVILY regulated to ensure clean power), come to find out the fluctuation and noise is causing premature death of the battery, EVERY battery including your high dollar iPhone and/or tablet, or worse, cause it to vent by not providing the proper current to the charger and the charger starts flipping out...

I am almost tempted to convert a ATX powersupply to a benchtop power supply and build me a KNOWN good regulated 5vdc source! At least I know it's capable of proving up to 30A or more (depending on power of the ATX powersupply [go look the 5vdc side is the one with the most power]

Yeah it ain't portable...but it's clean, it's definitely able to make plenty of amps
