My story, will break it down into two posts since it's long =)

Two months ago I weighed in at 360 pounds. I suffer from COPD and have never been athletic. I also suffer from a rare skin disease which was recently called the third most painful disease (above even arthritis and fibromyalgia) - Hidradenitis suppurativa. This disease causes me to get softball sized sores inside of my legs which explode with over a cup of blood and pus. My wife has been very understanding of my condition, but I would be lying if I said that it hasn't affected our sex life. My wife and I have been together since we were 12, and she's still the same little 115 pound thing she was when we met, while I exploded into 350+ pounds.

Recently, my friends and family and I have started our own organization for weight loss which we call The Food Chain. The name comes from the idea that we all rely on one another for this to work. We're only as strong as our weakest link. We meet together every thursday to weigh in and compare our weight loss, explain our struggles of the week and just update one another. Today is our weigh in day and I will be going in an hour or so. This is the fifth week of our dieting and I am already down to 330 pounds - having lost nearly 30 pounds. 30 pounds in five weeks.

I've done this with a combination of exercise and dieting. I currently am running a 5k every day, which is something I could have never dreamed of doing a over a year ago when I was still smoking. I feel the healthiest I have felt in years, and that's all due to vaping. Our group has more smokers, and while I've already gotten many into vaping and saved their lives - there are a few more who just can't afford vaping and this device could help them on their weight loss goal with me.

last week at our meeting, I read the following speech:

It goes without saying that I have the most long-term goal here. I started this at almost 360 pounds. At a minimal 5 something I'm not exactly towering and that weight is nothing short of staggering. I've become so large that I literally cannot even eat out at most restaurants as I am too big to fit into the booths. I am actually so fat that I cannot use most weight equipment because I am so far over the maximum weight - which is a unique struggle for me. On top of this, I have horrible knees from years of skateboarding. I have a broken kneecap right now - just basic acts like getting into bed becomes excruciating. Then, on top of that I have to walk with 350 pounds of force on that broken knee. Every step I take is unbearable. This is all made worse by me being a sufferer of a rare skin disease called hidradenitis suppurativa. This horrible disease is called the third most painful disease in the world, ranked above arthritis and even fibromyalgia - a disease that is literally just chronic pain. This disease effects me primarily in my inner thighs, where they connect, and even sitting is often excruciating because I have a bloody growth inside of my leg the size of a softball. I am a "stage 3" sufferer of HS, and recently when working out on the treadmill I ruptured one of my HS sores and it began to bleed profusely. Over a cup of blood came out and as it poured down my leg I thought for a brief moment about stopping. Quitting. I had set a half mile mark goal for myself and told myself I was close enough at .480. However, seeing the blood pour from my leg inspired me to keep pushing and someway somehow I gathered enough strength to continue on. I ended up running for a mile and a half, running for nearly 30 minutes longer. As I stepped off of the treadmill, I started cleaning myself up and I realized "I could have kept going - I should have kept going". So, what did I do? I did. I kept going. I got back on and I ran another mile - this time even faster. 25 minutes I ran this time, over a mile. This thought and this moment inspired the following short speech - based on the thoughts and words that actually ran through my head as I walked on the treadmill.

Push.

Push, don't stop. Don't quit. Don't give up. Pay attention to the pain. Count the heart beat. Let the sweat from your brow drip into your eye, and sting. This pain reminds you that it's real. It reminds you that you are pushing to a dream. Something you want. Something you need. Something you deserve, even though you've met so many who don't want you to have it. Who don't think you deserve it. Who say you are not good enough. That ache in your legs is weakness leaving your body. Push. Don't stop. Breathe. Don't give in. You want this. You need this. Every hurtful word you ever heard them say about you is leaving your body through every pore. The sweat is the hurt, it's the pain. Your legs feel weak, but they're not. They're strong - they're as strong as you are. They're as strong as you need them to be. They won't give out before you do. You'll stop when you're ready to stop, not when they tell you to. You can do this because you say you can. Not because anyone else relies on you but because YOU rely on YOU. You rely on that satisfaction when they all see what you've accomplished. That what you set out to do - you did. You're a champion. You're a hero. You're God in your world and you have the power to do anything. Eradicate any urge to put yourself down - and instead put yourself high on the pedestal that you, the God, deserve to be on. Feel every cell of your body cheer for you as you make change. True change, visible change. The tears come as you cry out from the pain. Don't give up, reach inside and scream out - YOU CAN DO THIS. Those are not tears, they're glorious rain here to wash away any sense of doubt. You are a gladiator. You are fighting for your life. The clock is ticking - you've almost reached your goal. Don't slow down - don't descend. ASCEND into greatness. Push past your goal. Do better. Go harder. This is your arena and here you are royalty - pick up your sword and KILL. Hack. Slash. End the opposition, because at the end of the day your only opposition is you.

Every drop of blood. Every bitter tear. Every bead of sweat. You live for this.

Now get up and PUSH.

I have helped a lot of people switch to vaping with some the things I have won in Contests here on the ECF... plus I have enough Toys for myself right now!! :D

And if I win, I would like it to go to DietSalem, so they can help another person on their journey...

Keep up the good work!!! :thumb:

Thank you so much! That's about where I sit right now. My wife and I both own multiple mods to use as backups (which came in handy, since my main mod just shorted out recently!) and take part in any giveaway we see on facebook or here so we can help our less fortunate friends.
