as a 30 year 2 pack a day smoker this is entirely doable if you're committed to it.
if you have a vape shop nearby, hands on education is invaluable, YouTube is your best friend and here's your go to for information (it showed up on Google search for just about every issue I had in the beginning)
try different ejuices at a sampler bar type thing at B&M (brick and mortar) shops in your area if you can, saves buying something you just cant stand even if you cut it with custard (*rolly eyes* been there done that kind of thing)
a mod's what I started with coils and all, it's the BEST flavor, for convenience I take lil eGo's when out and about (and I like my 2200mah one it took me a week of going on the motorcycle and out and about to figure that out, I never needed the back up with a modified kanger protank 2)
for sitting at home I wish i'd just gone MVP (no batteries to change out, it charges like a cell phone with the same cord your cell does) and every tank works on it from my cheapy to the Kayfun).

I found what you were talking about BrantlyT. Just one last question, what's a good vg/pg ratio to start out with. I'll be going with 24mg nicotine, since I'm currently a 2 pack a day Newport smoker. Thanks.
I would start with 50/50 VG/PG. It's more or less the middle of the road option. Then as you figure out what you like and don't like, you can try going more PG or VG.
And start off with small bottles, you may be surprised at what flavors you end up liking or disliking.
