After reading about all these battery fires, I am getting concerned. I am useing the eGo type usb charger with the wall adapter. I have 2 and they seem to get a bit warm. The actual eGo batteries stay cool to the touch. Is this something to be worried about? Is there better eGo type charger out there? Should I maybe plug it into a serge strip to be extra safe about saving the houses wireing?

Thank you

Slightly warm battery chargers aren't a problem if they're functioning properly. A little of the electricity turns to waste heat in the charger while being transformed to the correct voltage for the eGo. Some goes to running the electronics that test the battery for its charge level, and those produce a little heat as well.

I have mine plugged into a surge protector just in case, and also to accommodate all the little chargers!
