Warm vapor is nice, it brings out the flavors more, it's more like (the better aspects of) analog. Warm vapor seem to result from having a clearomizer or cartomizer where the coil in close to the mouth-piece, and from having more power based on the combination of voltage of the battery and resistance of the coil.

Yet it seems that many of these things are the same things that can lead to throat burn, though the burn adds one other element: not enough juice.

I think we've all done it, gotten a really bad hit that stays with you for an and hour or more.

How can I embrace the first but avoid the 2nd?

Also, this "throat hit" people speak of-- is it coming from the nicotine? or is it a matter of warmth? is it possible even a little like throat burn?

Right now I'm doing research for a *big* purchase. I want to get a variable voltage device, I want to look pretty, demure even, I also want to know what to pair with it to have the best experiences. sorry for all the questions!

Maybe it's just me, But fruity/sweet juices seem to often give me a "mellow" smooth hit without "OMG, save me! I'm frigging dying!" TH. I typically use 510 boge cartomizer or LR atomizer. It may also be I've been vaping a little while now, so what use to be a "whoa" TH for me, isn't as harsh now since my body's adjusted. Whenever I get a dry atty hit I still feel like I've been knocked over though.
