dropped it. and it took too long to find through all the bubbles. so I have one dead battery but the atty still works. Just wanted to warn people.

c.

Thereby somewhat proving the atty mantra "A wet atty is a happy atty" on the otherhand battery, not so much!

better to drop it in the tub then the toilet i guess

 yes, true!

LOL funny stuff :)

I will try the gangsta suggestion of suran wrap next time. I'm not really a bath type person but I used to love how the glamorous women would smoke in the tub in those old movies. Just wanted to try it.

I put my battery in the oven on 200 with the door open a bit. Its done. Worked with my cell phone. I will try it later.

and so far no bubbles come outa my atty. I did actually use that opportunity to clean it with isoP after the mishap. (I like that word mishap)

You know, when I first started in the cash register business, I was working on some printers (building working ones out of used parts). I had a PCB that was all corroded, and one of the older guys said, "well, just wash it". Wash it? with capacitors and IC's and all that on it? He says, "Yeah, c'mon..." and took me back to a sink. I scrubbed the corrosion off with a brush and Formula 409 under hot running water... seemed so crazy. Then he had me set it on a bench under my work lamp (pulled down to about 6 inches above it). I left it there overnight, turned it over in the morning... and by late the next afternoon had it up and running in a printer.

So I guess if it didn't short out or explode, a battery should be fine after getting wet... provided you dry it completely! If it was anything other than water, though, it'll shorten the lifespan. The solids will remain after the liquid dries, and many of them start corrosion... 'specially sodas.
