Was a drip tip supposed to make my vaping experience incredible?!

I LOVE dripping on the bridgeless atty but will totally agree with your assessment...pretty much spot on for me as well. Drip, drip, drip - 6 amazing drags, burnt taste, repeat. I don't think I'll ever shy from this method, although now that I do have a drip tip, maybe I will try in on a cartomizer for the S&Gs...I've got 5 cartomizers just sitting here rotting :p Do you angle your device when using a drip tip and your cartomizer?

Do I angle my device? Like when I'm holding it and vaping? If so, yes, it's angled a little bit downward from my mouth at about a 45-degree angle. I seem to get more vapor that way.

Does juice get on your PV when you're dripping? Just wondering if that happens with everyone? I don't use the cone (due to the harder draw and extra hassle putting it on...ha)

Like when you use your drip tip and carto setup...do you angle while dripping? Is that a must so it wont go down that little rabbit hole in the middle of the carto?

I get juice all over the place, on my PV, on the atty, on my lips...my hands are sticky now whilst typing (I think that's ejuice).

Hey iceman. I love the drippytips and I'm a devout carto user. I toss the rubber caps from my cartos and pop on the drip tip after the first filling. At the first hint of a change in flavor I just drip about 18 drops into the drip tip and I'm good for another good long while! Drip tips! .... They're not just for attys anymore!

No, I don't use the drip tip to drip into the cartomizer (or into an atomizer). I only use drip tips for mouthpieces. I don't like getting juice in my mouth (yes, I blow on the end of the drip tip, if I do drip into the drip tip), and the liquid drains into the filler much quicker if I drip directly into the filler.

When it's time to refill a cartomizer, I take it off the battery, drip about 15 drops into the filler (drip all 15 drops into the same spot in the filler to force the juice to drain down quicker), while holding the carto at a 45-degree angle. Actually, I'll drip about 5 drops into the filler (yes, hold it at an angle), then 5 more drops, and then 5 more drops. This way, not much liquid drains out of the center hole, but I'll set the carto on a kleenex in between putting drops into the filler, because I'll usually refill two or three cartos at the same time (I usually rotate about three eGos at a time). Refilling this way eliminates juice from getting onto anything, except a little on the kleenex. Then I use a q-tip and kleenex to wipe the threaded end of the cartomizer when it's full. I never get liquid on the battery or my fingers or my lips refilling this way.

Then I put the rubber caps back on and set the carto aside for about 24 hours. It vapes much better if it has set overnight or for about 24 hours, since that gives it more time for the juice to soak well into the filler and built-in atomizer. I rotate about 20 cartos or more, so all of them were refilled at least 24 hours before I actually vape them.

Hi, thank you. So do you get giant plumes of vapor like when using an atty? I seriously may try this because VADD is going to come down on me!

After experimenting with dripping:

1 drop = about 3 drags (puffing for about 6 to 7 seconds)

Therefore:

1 carto = 15 drops (when refilling) or 45 drags (or 60 to 75 drags to get the burnt filler taste) or 4.5 cigarettes

1 cigarette = 3.33 drops or 10 drags (I think -- it's been two months since I quit smoking, and I never counted the drags)

1 pack of cigarettes = 67 drops or 200 drags

You guys only get 6 drags from 3 drops? It seems like 2 or 3 drops lasts me longer than a cigarette would have, so I equate dripping to lighting a stinky :D Beats the hell out of cartridges and that God-awful burnt foam taste.

Yah, but I'm talking hugemongous plumes...on a bridgeless atty, which does tend to leak...but that's average, I would say more is possible. Let me count and repost...in front of a steamy mirror of course..

EDIT: Realized my beautiful orginal bridgeless atty has a small crack in the ceramic tub, so that's why it was leaking so much, and also why I wasn't getting so many plumes off of 3 drops. So warbdan, yes, I am getting far more hits off of 2-3 drops on a new bridgeless atty.

The drip tip doesn't effect the way the carto works. It just makes using them a lot easier. When the flavor changes a little I just drip more in through the drip tip. No squishing the carto into a condom cap and wiping it down or prying off the rubber endcap for a drip fill. Just drip more in and go.
I have preferred the performance of cartomizers over attys for a while (except the CE2s. I've never had a decent one). I have used lots of different attys. 510, 510LR, 510HV, M 401, 801, 901, 901HV, 901LRs are good but cartos are more convenient to use in my opinion.
I use 510 and 808 cartos. I like the Boge and Bauway 510s and prefer the Kanger 808s. I have some 801 cartos that are OK at 3.7 volts but they don't seem to like my juices at 5 volts. I'm about to order some Mega 808s from Ikenvape. They are supposed to hold about 60 drops. He's coming out with a 510 drip tip carto soon that comes with a metal drip tip. I want to try one of those.

I've got two Super-T stainless drip tips set up, one on a 510 pass-thru and the other for random eGo batteries. I recently tried and really like the mega cart/atty for the eGo. It's a pretty good balance between the great vape and hassle of dripping versus day-long independence of mega cartos and having to get my junkie equipment out to fill them.

So I still drip when working at my desk and sometimes around the house, especially when sitting still and dripping is not interrupting something else. But my lazy side has been influencing me to use the mega cart/atty more often. I can fill the cart and go for a couple hours then pop it off and put in around 20 drops and go another couple hours.

Only two ways I vape are drip tips (either SS T-Tip, Aluminum, or Delrin) on a LR510 or a RS E2 R4 cartomizer. I have had great luck with the E2 R4 cartos. They are kind of a PITA to fill, but when I use them full time, I go through 2-3 cartos a day, so it isn't to bad. The flavor is really consistent, and if it starts to taste a little off, I tip it upside down for a few secs. I use the drip tips on the R4's to increase the distance between me and the heat generated from the coil.

Used to pull nic chrome wicks from the 510 atties, but found it made them leak to much. Usually 2 drops, vape for a bit, 2 more drops. If I am not working, driving etc, I tend to drip the LR510 atomizer.
