Keeping it simple is just the best way to go when getting off analogs. I smoked for 14 years. So I wanted something simple. First crappy cigalikes which i ended up also still smoking while I was on those. I was able to give them up for good when I got my setup. But it is rather simple. An Itaste VV with a kanger aerotank mini. I haven't bothered to learn recoil. My duel coils last long enough for me and still are vastly cheaper then going out and buying analogs. Many people seem to have issues making stock coils last long. Mine usually last me at least a month. The only coil to actually end up going bad on me quick was my first one. Still if I can make a 5 pack last me 4-5 months it is worth it. I don't want to have to go through the hassle of learning to recoil and stuff. Plus these newer Kanger duel coils are a pain to get apart. You need pliers to do so and if your not careful you can break them. Not worth worrying over really. I still have some cravings for analogs every now and then. But not like I used to. Though I did have a dream the other night when i was smoking lol. I am still at the point where I need to keep it simpler just so i don't stress over it. I can see vaping becoming a hobby someday. But not so much for the thrill of building them. For me I see myself possibly ending up becoming more of a collector. lol

The holy grail of rda for me would be one that is so hard and complicated to build it would take an engineering degree and at least 24hrs to build. I would be so happy with that, i really love to tinker with stuff. It was only when i started rebuilding that vaping finally got enough interest for me.

I think this is me, lol! So far I've nailed all my builds on the first try. So I keep buying more difficult attys, waiting for one to beat me.

I guess I need a genny.

I second keepsmiling. Get a Reo. Buy some quality juices that you WANT to taste (see my sig, hint, hint). With that self-defeating thought process, you'll end up with COPD by the time you're 40 and I know you don't want that.

It's a PITA at first until you find your sweet spot. I'm greedy and don't let anyone mess with my batteries or mod unless I trust them completely.

It took me a while (1+month) to find my sweet spot and I'm so glad I did. I am vaping quite happily and feel satisfied. Smoking is just not an option for me anymore.

Take care,
Dani

I believe your issue is not with the build on your atty but the output difference from your friend's "dual battery, unregulated box mod" and whatever mod/batteries you are using. What voltage reading do the two mod devices produce?

There's always someone who spoils things with a sensible comment.......

It was because his dripper was flooding into the pin so I cleaned my pins and it works better. As a FYI, about a year ago I was using a Russian 91 on top of my friends VV and a private v2 clone with some RDA, so I have experience with vaping but I sold my Russian and went back to analogs but my friends kept vaping and smoking analogs, but I pretty much learned a lot from this site and my friends so I thought jumping into mechs were fun. And it was for a month, it was literally all I liked to tinker with and last night, it just got a bit tedious to where I just got frustrated.

I apologize for my frustations everybody!!
