And I had my TRA SL/LP/ Grand with me, and one of the employees walked up and asked me about it. I showed it to him, and he wanted to hold it an look at it. I handed it to him, and he kept saying cool, real cool while looking it over and flipping the door up and down. He wanted to know where I got it so I told him Reos mods.com. He took down all the info including the term "squonker", and said he will definitely be checking it out. I told him also that Rob sells to stores also, so hopefully more business coming to Reos mods.

This store is great. I'm 72, and my wife isn't too far behind me, and we both like, and feel comfortable in there. They cater to the ones just starting out as well as the more experienced. We don't spend a lot there but we are treated like we do. This is the only store we will go to.

Nice story. It's great that you have a shop that doesn't turn you off, and good on both you and the employee for having the convo.

I've shown reos to 2 B&M owners. One chased me down on the street a few weeks later to show me the one he bought as a result of my demo. The other one tried to tell me how I was using obsolete gear and that I should get a <some brand name> 100W reg box.

It just goes to show how nascent and subjective vaping is. I wonder if most folks realize that it's not like going into a pharmacy to pick up established and standardized products.

.

That sounds like my experience as well at a local shop. I suspect the truth is that they know they didn't have a product similar that they can sell and profit from. And in my experience they may have been slightly perturbed by all their customers eyeing and wanting a demo of my mini.

serves em right for ripping me off on juice! lol

I was in my local B&M a few weeks back with one of my Grands talking to the manager about the anti vape legislation that recently passed here and he knew about Reo's and even wants one but hasn't pulled the trigger yet. He did say he didn't think it would be right to vape a Reo while at work, he has to stay loyal to the products he promotes and sells in the store and I can understand that. He does plan on buying a Reo for home use though.

I went into a local shop here before they knew me, and they asked about my REO, they never seen one before or really heard of them, and 1 kid came over and asked me "where is the screen", told him it was mech device, but he really didn't believe me and kept searching for it, now when I walk in they say "there's the REO Guy". the kid is no longer there, some of the others are and we get a kick about it all the time

I've been in 2 shops with my Reo. One shop is great, one shop is kind of meh, but they're respectful. One guy new what a Reo was, but never seen one in person. A employee in the shop I liked said he used to have one a couple years ago before the SL ones came out and all, but it wasn't his style as atty choice wasn't huge. He loves the SL one, but when he builds 0.2 ohms and 100w, he doesn't think he'd enjoy a Reo much now. I spent an extra hour at the vape shop one day when he was scrolling through the Reo site "oohing and awwing" haha.

I go in still and they sort of know better than to show me all the new gear and stuff that just came out yesterday, hey I have something here in my hands that will still be here, next year and more likely the year after and after that.

In the Capitol of Sin where vaping almost anywhere pretty much still goes (especially if in doubt you are courteous enough to ask first)... I've never seen another Reo. But I do get asked a lot almost anywhere I do vape... "is that one of those ecig things", "I have a (fill in the blank) that smokes that should try them", "how do they work", "how much do they cost", "where do you get them", etc. I always have the time, so take enough of it to answer any questions and give them references if wanted. Strangers I'll never see again, so no idea if anything comes from it other than at least these strangers are not left ambivalent about vaping or the people that do it.

The dude in my local vape shop thinks my REO rocks. He was super intrigued. But that vape shop's a croc of crap no matter how cool the people who own it are (they're very cool, ridiculously cool). They only sell, well, ego and MVP at best, mostly glass for something else. And I am not a proponent of a shop selling both. I have nothing against shops selling one or the other but to combine them = you won't get my business. We've got enough bad press without having those intermingle imo.

eta to be fair no vape shop would get my business, anyway. But I do like checking them out and meeting peeps

The vape shop we go to is about 1/2 hour away. We go there about once a month to look around, do a little bs'ng,
and pick up an item or two. I just like the way they do business, they aren't in it for the quick buck, but for the long haul.
They have everything covered, with plenty of choices for the new vapor on up to the more experienced room filling fog belching vapor.

I will usually tell the very few strangers who have asked me what I "have there" that my mod is an electric krayuk pahp. Then once I gauge their reaction, decide wether I want to enlighten them with the truth.

I have enlightened 2 people who were like "no it ain't" I even offered a young lady a hit off it when she said "Is it really"? This was a couple of years ago and if I remember correctly it was a VV Woodvil with a chalice on it while I sat in my car tapatyping in the the Publix parking lot. Yep, she walked right up to my car and said "excuse me sir, but is that one of those ecigs" I did ultimately confess that it was indeed a rare and high end ecig.

She was very interested and asked me what a setup like that cost.

This was back when Woodvils and chalices were in between runs and hard to get / expensive-er. I had to be honest with her - "you mean a setup just like this?" She said "yeah - just like that"

I think she pretty much freaked when I told her but I did mention that there are many less expensive REO / atty options.

I love to F with people :)

All the B&Ms I've gone to seemed to be very intrigued with my REOs but they get all iffy when I suggest that they should carry them. Hey it's the original box mod! It's indestructible damn near and you stand a high chance of it being an end all device. I think that indestructible and end all device points kinda turns them away from selling them as no one would buy the other mods they sell!
I've been told by several of the owners that they have thought about selling them but they think that with the price they might be a hard sell. Now I've been pretty much out of the loop when it comes to other devices since coming here to REOville but aren't all the other high speed box mods out there up there in price as well? If anything, the REO will outlast any other box, and their children, and their children's children. I've been vaping since the end of April 2013 and a REOnaut since Sept '13 and thanks to the REO I have yet to hit a thousand dollars spent on vape gear.....close but not yet!
I've handed all my REO cards that Rob sends out so maybe....just maybe I'll walk into one of them someday and be surprised to see some REOs in stock.

I have no idea what Robs wholesale price is, and then what the B&M would have to sell it for, but around $200 wouldn't be an out of line price for a good mod in a B&M that sell the higher end mods. The problem now I think is that most people go towards the VW's, and a lot of those can be had for less.
