Washed my battery...can it be saved?

Oops. I accidentally forgot my auto battery in my pocket and it got washed. Is it salvageable? Any way
to save it? I tried putting it in a bag of rice for 2 days, then I put it in the charger, the red light came on, about an
hour or so later the green light came on indicating it was charged, but alas, it doesn't work. Should I waste any more time on it?

It might be possible, but I really would advise against it. Even if it worked, I would probably chunk it. Any battery poses a certain level of risk. Even if you could get all of the water out, there will almost certainly be detergent and other stuff left behind. I would never trust it again on a charger (fire hazard). Just my thoughts. Better safe than sorry.

If it's an automatic, the battery end isn't sealed, so laundry detergent and water have gotten into all the components. I don't think you're going to have any luck with it.
