What water are you guys using when cutting VG and maybe more importantly from where are you getting it?
I know I need de-min or de-ion or distilled, but the only sources are for car batteries, vivarium's or pc cooling and whilst I'm they'd be fine none are made with a view to human health so I ain't to sure I'd be happy sucking it down

the shear nature of it being distilled means there are no impurtities in it and perfectly safe for human consumption....i personally use vodka as it adds a little more throat hit to the mix

Absolutely bang on Gordy - the reason for it being used primerily for car batteries - irons etc is that as it's pure it leaves no scale or mineral deposits where it shouldn't

in work we need deionised water to refill fork truck batteries. we put a drum of water in the freezer for 3 days then take it out to defrost. next day we fill the trucks with it.
deonised? i dont know, but our supervisor swears it is and has done that for years in previous places hes worked.
just a thought....

From what i gather the process of distilling water is done by boiling the water and filtering and collecting the vapour to give it a purer form AFAIK freezing doesn't come into it but i may be wrong as i have been many times before lol

its easier just to do as youre told and not ask questions sometimes

Yes that works but don't let it all freeze. When it is mostly ice but with little water left take out the ice thaw it out and use that. The impurities will remain in the water left over.

Just scrape the ice off the inside of a cheap freezer - that's distilled water.

Nice reverse osmosis, twin ion exchange, particle filtration down to stupid level jobbie it is with UV lighting to combat microbiological bugs and nasties so 300ml has been 'borrowed' and stashed in the fridge
