Yeah I realize they need venting. Hmmm... well someone should at least make a unit that has all it's electronics in a waterproof area. The battery can get wet and replaced... the whole unit is a different story.

I get a lot of seat time during the day and vaping, paddling and sipping on a beer is just beautiful. Pulling over to quickly get a nic fix isn't...

Ah well, I guess I'll just go with strictly mechanical. I lost my Reo Grand by dropping it into the river last year :( This year I was using a Joytech 18650 mod, but a wave came over my boat and soaked it and now it doesn't work at all.

There are a number of Otterboxes that are perfect sizes for keeping your device safe and dry.

This. An otterbox or dry box/bag.

Literally can't waterproof ecigs because they have to draw in and vent air.

I have heard of someone tryin to perfect a seal that will allow air but not water to pass through, but I dont think it was very successful.

Hey all,

Anyone know of a commercial waterproof mod?

If there isn't one, can anyone recommend me a cheapish 100% mechanical mod? At least that way the only thing to get turfed is the battery. 18650 preferred.

I do a lot of kayaking...

Thanks

It's been done!!!!

I'm in the same boat (pardon the pun), and love the outdoors. The only mod that was created specifically for the outdoors was the Rubicon Raven (formerly know as the Outdoorsman).

It's a VV mod with a 8000 MAH, 26650 protected battery. They say 6 days of vape time.

Now, this is not a pretty mod. Aesthetics aside, this is a form/function vv mod, and made to order. I would call the mod maker (David or leggomyears@gmail.com)

Alternatively, I use my REO Grand when kayaking or generally in the outdoors (no kick of course). This year I attached some styrofoam when I was in deep water. The beauty about the REO is that you can wash it when dirty...no wires to worry about, just add some new Noalox.

Wow, that Raven is a beast. Perhaps too beastly. I'd probably buy if it had only one 26650 battery and sub $100 price tag. As it is that thing must weigh a ton and barely fit in a pocket :| Would be good if I went on week long trip or more though.

I'm leaning towards the KTS GGTS (cheap) and that carry caddy from ProVape (looks nice). I already have a Pelican case, but it's not accessible on the water. Everything is stored in the rear hatch and I don't really want a box sitting in between my thighs.

On my yearly 4 day canoe expedition, I carry a 3000mah usb charge pack, and 2 ego twists w/ evods and 2 ego-vv (the three click change voltage oldschool ones) with empty cartos. I have one around my neck on a lanyard with the evod, everything else is in a drybag in ziploc bags. The ego-vvs and cartos are the backups.

Madvapes Gripper is a wonderful mech mod which got many great reviews. Mine is on it's way as we speak! You can also get the Sentinel Clone from All E-Cig Solutions - Canada's #1 Electronic Cigarette Dealer - Ontario (canadian vendor) which was recommended by MANY users.
