Watt Questions

Hi all, and thank you for being here! So much information.

I've been vaping for 2 months. I use a DOVPO E-LVT 2.0 30 watt mod and Aspire nautilus Mini. The atomizer is BVC 1.8 ohm. I vape at 12 watts.

My questions are:
1) What is the highest watt you can use this atty? (Not saying I will)
2) What advantage to higher watt settings, except for sub-ohm?
3) Would higher watt settings shorten the life of the coils and or battery charge?

Highest wattage really depends on you, tho I wouldn't take that tank about a max of 12 watts, others may say higher, If the wick is keeping up, and you like the flavor at whatever wattage you are using then use it.

Really you don't need to subohm on a high wattage device, the device itself doesn't care if it is a 0.3 or a 2.0 coil, (so long as the 0.3 is within the specs of what it can handle), you set it to say 45 watts and either will give you 45 watts, the lower ohm coil tho gives you no play room and will add stress to your cell as it makes the voltage output higher to reach said wattage.

Yes, the higher you set the wattage or the lower ohm you use will shorten the time between charges, and can shorten the life of the coil.

I don't recommend going crazy with the wattage on the nautilus mini maybe 12 to 15 watts max because you'll start getting burned hits or coils won't last as long. If you need a tank that will handle higher wattage look towards an Atlantis, Sub-tank mini, or a Delta II if you aren't looking to go into the sub-ohm realm the Sub-tank mini has 1.2 ohm coils that can handle 20 watts nicely. The mod you have will accommodate either of these devices nicely. The power you put to the coil will affect the temperature of atomization and will intensify the flavor but also makes the vapor warmer.

I have both the mini and regular nautilus. I find 12.5w to be my sweet spot, some juices are fine upto 15 but i find 12.5 just fine. I use the 1.6 coils but i find it hard to tell the difference between the 1.6 or 1.8's to be honest.
In theory more power will produce more vapor and will drain the battery quicker but more power than the coil/wick can handle will just waste the head by burning your wick and tasting nasty so best advice is go up in power slowly by taste and stop where you are happy. Some people like lower wattage and some like MORE power as long as it tastes good and your happy all is good

Thanks Foggyroomz. That I can go to the Atlantis or the Sub-tank mini is the reason I got the E-LVT 30 watt. Do you like one better than the other? As an ex-pipe smoker I like flavor and warm vapor.
