Hey guys, I would like to know how high wattage are you guys going ?

For me, I have been staying at the low side or 25 ~ 30 W for khantal or titanium.

I can't seems to go higher.. anything higher.. a bad taste will come (dry hit) or muted flavour..

But mods are made to go high like my evic 60w and smok xcube2 160w..

What am I doing wrong here ???? Or am I even wrong haha..

Titanium wires are for tc only.
You don't have to keep increasing wattage in kanthal, and 25-30W isn't low at all.

Why do u need to go for higher wattage? Does higher wattage gives out more vapor? Cos I wish to have more vapor too like those guys on YouTube. I'm using ipv3li now with tfv4 but there's not much cloud to chase:-/
20watts only. Can't go higher cos I'll cough when higher.

Like WarA said, Ti is for temp control only. Pls do not compare with kanthal!
On kanthal I m usually on 20w or below. Only dual coil I run it higher to 30w.. Enough for me already.
TC usually below 20w as well. Sometimes 14 - 18w only.
I would think as you go higher in wattage the coil and wicking would be more important to get them right. Less forgiving, and less room for mistake..

I have the evic vt, when I'm on TC ti, the W is set to minimal 30w. I tired going up to 40 plus w.. That's when bad stuff starts to happen

On the smok x cube 2 , on TC mode.. the wattage can't be set at all. .sometimes it goes up to 60w by itself.. so I don't use TC on the smok.. only wattage mode (cap at 30wmax)

One thing that worries might be my build isn't good enough.. number of warps, gauge, diameter. .. I have build more then 20 times on the goliath v2 and TFV4.. each build last only about 3 days .. then have to rebuild the coils n wick .

Once I had a really bad dry hit.. had to stop vaping for 2 days. So I'm very scared of high wattage.. but just curious .. since the mods are build to go up to such high wattage abilities. . But I stuck at 20 to 30 for the fear of dry hits .

probably just your build.
youtube would be the best source to learn.
just do what they do and u shouldnt have any problems.

Ive currently done some experiments. Im currently using smok x cube 2. Kanthal 26G dual coil with 0.6 ohms. Vaping at max of 85 watts. Well actually the flavour you get when sucking it is really warm and not hot. It depends too on resistance! Doesnt hurt to try but do read some safety before experimenting!

Which coil are you using? And your juice pg/vg/nic content?

Are you on the single coil rba deck? Double coil rba deck? Or occ?

If you are on the single coil rba deck, you can coil the 26ga kanthal a1 with 6 wraps and fire up to 38watts or 22ga kanthal a1 with 8 wraps and fire up to 40 watts.

If you're on the double coil rba deck you can do the same as the above, difference is just two coils instead of one. For double coils you can fire up to 50watts easily without getting any burnt taste.

Most importantly for all coil build, do ensure that the coil is not sitted too low to the airhole as placing in too low will result in dry hits, placing the coil too hight will result in major spitbacks. Wicking has to be right as well, not too tight or not too lose, it has to be snug, being able to move left and right with abit of tension, not too much or too little cotton as well.

Explanation above is for wattage mode. For the TC mode there is a thread already made available, you can check it out with regards to the Ni Coil, wraps, temperature setting and etc etc.

If you want to go for high wattage, rda is the best! Probably because of more and bigger airholes(for some) . But its best not to use up to your maxed watts for safety

Can i just use the small blue screw driver? Or the black one which comes with tfv4 tank?? And another question, do most people change their cotton every time they wanna put in a different flavoured juice?

Wow that sounds very high. I'm very new and know very little so I won't go that high for sure.. Timid.

Ive seen reviews on youtube where people are going higher on the wattage, for example riptrippers, richard ng, suckmymod, twisted, some go as high as 120w. My own personal take on it is if we do go that high it mutes the flavour alot, all we get is a slightly butter taste and loads of clouds. They crank up the wattage as they are on high % vg based juices whereas here in sg, most of us, not all, are on either 60/40, 50/50 or 70/30. My own two cents.

I just on my mod now aft changing to 3coils occ. Ohm show 0.77 is it still okay to put 70watts? How abt 40??

These are the steps i personally take on like a daily ritual when changing occ's.

Make sure you prime your occ's well. Drop the juice bit by bit into the holes till you see the cotton in the opening on the sides are saturated.

Next you assemble your tank as per normal and fill it up.

Close all airholes on the tank and the driptip.

Take around 5 long and hard puffs as hard as you can, do not fire your mod, just suck that beast like a biatch, you will see bubblex popping up, that a good sign, it means the cotton in your occ is properly soaking and saturating the juice.

Let it sit for around 5 mins.

Start off with 40w 5 puffs each with rest in between and take it up 10w by 10w till you reach your desired wattage.

Not sure if this is the right way to do it. But it works for me.
