View attachment VapingPowerChart.xlsI know I'm still new, but I'm pretty good at Excel, so I created a spreadsheet that shows watts & amps for resistance & voltage ranges. It's similar to the one I've seen floating around, but it has 2 tabs (one that shows watts, and one that shows amps).

I only made the voltage range from 2.9 to 6.0 volts, and the resistance range from 1.2 to 4.0 ohms, and everything is in 0.1 increments.

I realy just made it for myself as a quick guide for using my Provari, but thought I would share it here incase other folks might find it usefull.

Anyway, I attached it to this post, and if the mods feel it may be usefull, feel free to post it some where that people can get to it easily.

Thanks,

Bob

Edit.

Here is a better one that I automated to fill in the sheet based on the range that you enter. Just put the Min & Max values that you want in, and click the button. It will set the colors accordingly.

You have to enable editing and enable content for it to work.

Let me know how you like it...:)

You might want to think about high lighting the sweet spot Watt area like the other charts have, this way it would help people out some more maybe,,, just a thought.

I thought about that, but after reading so many posts about the other charts being on the light side, and not knowing enough yet to determine a good range myself, I decided to just leave that part up to the user...:)

If the more experienced folks could maybe post some guidelines in this thread, maybe we could all agree on some type of standard, and I can update the chart accourdingly.

You'll see some who swear that they vape at 12 watts. The vapor would burn my tongue. I wonder how many of those are relying on the voltage setting of smaller battery VV mods to deliver what they dial in. Automatic or incidental, voltage setback makes some think that they are vaping at a certain voltage when the electronics dialed it back to control current.

12 watts would be something like 5 volts at 2 ohms. When I try that on my Provari, the vapor is HOT! Way too hot for me to take on a continuing basis. I vape 2 ohm cartos at 3.4v (6.75W). Of course, I never liked those last few drags on a cigarette when I tried to finish it quickly and get back to work from a break. I've tried 5v @ 2 ohms. It's hot air.

Looks like the sweet spot is 4 to 8 watts.

Would this be good?

Should it be a little higher with dual coils?

Any vereran vapers feel free to chime in here...:)

That's my range. Dual coils at 1.5 ohms combined resistance are fine at 3.4v and maybe a tenth or two higher. At 3.4v you are vaping at 7.75W. Some like them at 3.7v. That's 9W. Any higher and it tastes burnt to me.
