Hello, so I started vaping week ago after 5 years of smoking. I bought the eleaf iJust 2 kit and I was really happy about that. Friend told me the coil last about 14 days. My first coil burned after 4 days, the second after 2 days, and the last one even didn't soak up and I burned it instantly. So my friend explained me what is "chainsmoking", I think that's the reason I burned all my coils, I vaped really intensivelly and the atomiser got really hot to touch. Btw. I'm using 70VG/30PG liquid. Maybe changing watts will help ? But this is my main question, how do I change watts on iJust 2, I heard you can do that, but how ? Thanks.

Welcome to ECF!

There is no adjustment on the iJust2. The only way you can change the output of the battery is by changing the coil or getting a different tank. I see that there are only a few coils available for that tank, .18, .3 and .5. The .5 would use lower watts than the others.

70/30 juice is fairly thick so it won't wick as well as thinner juice. You're probably not giving enough time between hits for the wick to get wet again. You might want to get some 60/40 juice or just not hit it as often.

Like I said, the .5 will use lower watts than the other ones so it won't burn as easily or use quite as much juice.

My first coil burned after 4 days, the second after 2 days, and the last one even didn't soak up and I burned it instantly.

The instantly-burned coil leads me to ask if you're priming your coils. Priming means making sure juice is soaked in before you fire it up the first time. The generally recommended procedure is to put a few drops of ejuice on your coil - a couple drops from the top, then look on the sides for holes where you see cotton and drop some juice there, let it soak in, and add a few more drops. Then fill the tank and let it sit for 5 - 10 minutes. You can also close the airflow and take a few puffs without firing the mod. There's a lazy version too - if you don't want to do all that, you can just fill the tank and wait longer before you use it.

The point of all this is to make sure the wick is saturated before you start heating the coil. If there's no juice at the coil, you get instant burn. If there's not enough juice, you can stress the coil and shorten its life.

Some of the other things that affect coil life are how much you vape (the chain-vaping) and the juice you're using. A juice with higher PG will wick faster, so that might help. Increasing the PG will also increase the throat hit and some people are sensitive to it, but others don't mind. Also, sweeter and darker juices tend to leave more residue and gunk up the coil faster than lighter and less-sweet juices.

There are many factors to coil life, so I wouldn't expect you to get the same results as your friend. One to two weeks is pretty normal for a coil, but some will get more and others less.

I have an iJust2. I quite like it, although the switch won't work to turn the battery off.
You cannot alter the output (watts) on the battery so you can only control the power with your choice of atomizer coil (ohms) and the amount of charge in the battery.
The 0.3ohm coil with a fresh battery is powerful and I can imagine causes trouble with early burn-out of the coils.
The 0.5ohm is easier to deal with, although you'll get a more gentle vape. It makes a big difference.

Looks like you have a device that works a lot like my EVOD Pro. The battery supplies whatever Voltage it's going to supply depending on how strong of a charge you have left and you can't change that. Some mods allow you to vary Voltage or Wattage. Some will allow you to set a temperature and the mod will keep you from going over whatever you set, doing it's best to quickly reach that temp. On this kind you alter your vape by picking an atomizer with your choice of resistance. To understand this I'd recommend checking out Ohm's Law. It's a chunk of math and it can be confusing. There are Ohm's Law calculators available online. I use an app on my cell phone to help me figure it out. You just need to know two numbers to get the whole thing. Luckily one of those numbers is the resistance (Ohms) of your atomizer, which you get to pick. Typically a battery is going to start off at 4.2 Volts and "die" at around 3.2 Volts. It can go lower than that though. So what you want to do is punch in the Ohms of your atomizer (that you picked) and punch in the Volts that your battery is pushing out (start at 4.2 for example). You can look up your device online and find out what the Voltage range really is. Usually in an in depth description of the device, maybe on the manufacturer's website but also possibly in a vendor's description. When you input those two numbers (Ohms/Volts) you will be able to find out what Wattage you are running.

I found this:

Eleaf iJust 2 Battery 2600mah

Minimum Resistance 0.2 ohm

Eleaf iJust 2 Battery is a tiny sized, high amperage battery that can fire 0.3 Sub Ohm Coils. This is similar to joyetech ego one batteries in that it's not variable voltage, it is straight voltage from the battery (4.2v Fresh Charged). It has a small body, and contains a 2600mAh large capacity cell. It also features a spring connector to ensure good connection

Diameter: 22mm

Color: Stainless

Milliamp Hours: 2600

Variable Wattage: No

Variable Voltage: No

Protection:

Short-circuit Protection: When the resistance is less than 0.15 ohm, short-circuit protection kicks in with a white indicator light flashing 3 times

Low-voltage Protection: When voltage is below 3.3V, white indicator light will flash 4 times

Unlock Low-voltage Protection: Charge the battery until is above 3.7V. Then low-voltage protection will be released

Includes:

1 - Battery

1 - Box Packaging

From : Eleaf iJust 2 2600mah Battery

These are the two important bits of info...

This is similar to joyetech ego one batteries in that it's not variable voltage, it is straight voltage from the battery (4.2v Fresh Charged)... Low-voltage Protection: When voltage is below 3.3V, white indicator light will flash 4 times

What is the resistance of the atomizer that you are using?

I'd just try 40-50 PG 1st if you like the vape off the 0.3ohm. Always thought tanks should come with 1 of every available coil, dumb you have to buy 4-5 just to try it. They should all come with a RBA too but now I'm just dreaming lol. Seriously though you purchased a tank... your gonna need coils, why not just include them and raise the price accordingly.
