Hi Everyone

I have only been off the analogs a few weeks now so still very new to vaping and still trying to find my perfect adv set up

started with a vtr/30s worked great until I found this amazing forum full of so much info I need years to absorb it all

kept reading about how good the kanger tanks were so got a aerotank2

worked fine and the difference from the 30s in flavour and vapour was a big step

but then I started having issues with either gurgling or spitting

so spent a lot of time cleaning and adjusting the way I vape

higher/lower wattages stronger/weaker pulls

to no success the coils kept flooding until one day I got a big spit straight on my tongue which sent me back to using the 30s

and looking for a substitute

many posts raved about the kanger v aspire with more saying the aspire nautilus was the better

then I kept reading about these new wonderful bvc coils they now came with and only downside was some mentioned dry hits

ok I can live with a dry hit more than hot juice in my mouth and will just need to learn the correct balance for priming these

got myself a nice sparkly nautilus plus a pretty diamond patterned tank and a box of spare coils

from the off it seemed great, loads more flavour and had not been spitting

but found juice was still getting into my drip tip and struggling to find the right balance as too high a wattage and I struggle with the throat hit

this is using 30mg patriot mentholxxx from TW

now switched to 18mg and trying to find a balance but am banging me head now as trying the aerotank again I now prefer that

tried the 30s again and prefer that too

not a quitter [except analogs] so have gone back to the nautilus

knowing I use roughly 7w on the the top fed 30s & around 8w on the aerotank

that's where I started but with the air hole on its biggest and taking a steady pull I am already up to 13.5w / 5.2v on a 2.0ohm atty

and still getting juice into the drip tip and on my lips

1: please someone what am I doing wrong

2: what's the perfect setup for an adv

to a reasonable extent money don't matter if it keeps me off the analogs as am saving $880/£550 a month

help getting me nautilus working right and the best non leaking non spitting RBA/RTA setup would be so appreciated

btw am using a ProVari 2.5

Hi! Good on you for sticking with it, mate. Analogs are easy...open a pack, grab one, flick your bic and off you go. There wasn't a wrong way to take a drag, and the only side effect of drawing too hard was that your cig would burn up real fast.

Vapor is a bit different. The tanks that you mentioned are operated on a fairly delicate vacuum that draws the liquid into the wick and then up to the coil. The vacuum is powered by your airflow that you're providing to it. If you suck too hard, you'll get splashes of warm liquid on your face, and up in the drip tip. Not enough and you've got dry hits and the coil isn't being fed properly.

That's not to say that it is entirely you that's causing it, but that sounds like it might be a big factor. I use a mini protank 3 and I have issues with liquid between the top cap and the drip tip when I refill, but I just tap it out and blow out the tip and it's fine.

Rebuildables are a big step, I would recommend getting more familiar with the replaceable head types, like you're using, before you go into learning how to build coils. Coils are sort of finicky and it's another spot that can cause issues while you're learning about them. That said, the best rebuildable that I've ever used is my Kayfun.

Hi Madaz and welcome. Vaping is bit more complicated than smoking. :D There's a learning curve--you have to know your PV and how to operate it correctly in order to get the best results. There's no ideal or best PV out there--they all work--if one takes the time to figure them out.

I use and like my MVP2 (and my ProVari and my Sigelei Zmax) with both Kanger and Aspire clearomizers without any serious problems. I prefer Kangers, others prefer Aspire. Mu go-to toppers are T3S, T3S baby, eVod and Aeortank mini on my MVP2 and Aerotank and ProTank 2 (with airflow control base) on my tube mods.

A few tips for Kanger clearomizer users (they also apply to Aspire clearomizers, in most cases):

Kanger Troubleshooting 101:

If your clearo is flooding, the connections are not tight enough--or too tight. Keep reading.

If you're using clearos and getting a burnt taste it means that not enough juice is getting to the coil and you're basically vaping dry, hot air or inhaling smoke from the gunk that's burning off of your coil. Not a good thing. Another case of bad taste maybe the tank itself--some arrive covered with some kind of nasty grease; wash them with soap and water (just the tanks--soak the coils in PGA or vodka).

There are a few things you need to remember when using a T3 or an eVod or a ProTank--in addition to keeping your coils clean and free of gunk that accumulates on them.

1) Make sure that the atomizer coil is screwed into the base tightly--every time you refill; they often come not fully tightened from the manufacturer, or may have gotten loose through repeated refills.

2) Look at all the inner seals and gaskets to make sure they haven't become dislodged.

3) Make sure that you screw the tank into its base tightly. If it's not tight, it will leak.

4) When you screw your clearomizer into your battery, do not overtighten--screw it in only until it makes contact--no farther, or you may push the center post in too deep and cause all kinds of problems, including leaking. When the draw becomes tight or the taste and vapor production begin to diminish, replace the coil. This will happen sooner (even as soon as one day of heavy use) if you're using dark, viscous, or very sweet juices. The old coil can be cleaned and dry burned.

5) Make sure you're not getting any juice in the center tube when you're filling--this will cause your eVod to leak like a sieve. If some juice gets into the tube, close the top cap, place a tissue under your tank and blow gently through the clearomizer to get rid of any excess eliquid. Also, extra condensation inside the tank may, on some occasions, drip back into the center tube. Wipe your mouthpiece dry with a q-tip or a tissue when you refill (or more often when/if needed).

6) Take an occasional "primer puff" (a slow draw without activating the battery) when you vape. It helps move the juice into the coil chamber and removes any air bubbles that sometimes form in the tank and may cause gurgling or impede proper wicking.

7) New clearomizers (Aerotanks etc.) come with a clever airflow adjustment base--make sure you adjust the settings to your liking.

8) Take slow long draws rather than sharp and quick ones like we used to do while smoking cigarettes. Do not over vape, chain vape, power vape. Let the juice travel to the coil between drags.

9) Do not remove any flavor wicks if you're experiencing any leaking or flooding. Those wicks are there for a reason. If you feel that you have to remove a wick because your eliquid is particularly thick, do it carefully--one strand at a time. If your liquid is super thin, you can thicken it with a bit of VG (USP--pharma grade) or you can add another strand of cotton to your flavor wick. Don't add too much or you'll choke your atomizer and get a dry hit.

and last but not least:

10) Keep the coils and wicks clean (search ECF or YouTube for detailed coil cleaning instructions). Discard when when flavor and vapor start to diminish. Those coils are disposable.

Also, make sure you're vaping at correct wattages; Kanger recommends 5.5-7.5 watts for single coils. Dual coils require a bit more wattage than single coils. They also benefit from increased airflow.
