Hi there!
My name is Toria from the UK and a life long smoker who has only just discovered the pleasure of e-cigarettes.
Recently my husband booked us to see Don Giovanni at the Royal Opera house, Covent garden, London...and with this in mind I decided to try e-cigs as the Opera is nearly 4 hours long. However my husband (who is also a non smoker) was compleatly horrified by my plan saying I would get thrown out! So I am really not sure what to do. Also for some very odd reason my husband seems generally miffed that I have taken to vaping and actually seems to prefere me smoking ordinary ciggies, so with this in mind I am compleatly baffled!!
I would love to hear other peoples expierences with vaping and have already read some very interesting comments on this superb forum. So I am looking forward to meeting the lovely people here!
See you soon! :D

Welcome Toria. Because e cigs and vaping are fairly new around the world, many are not sure that this isn't just another "gimmick" and that you'll be back on the "stinkies" after wasting money on this. I can tell you from my experience that this DOES work. I smoked cigarettes for 42 years never trying to quit. I dropped them the day I started vaping.

My wife of 39 years and a non-smoker had a similar outlook as your husband seems to but because she wanted so badly for me to stop smoking she went along with my vaping. Since that time, she has seen first hand how vaping has changed me. My doctor has reduced the strength of my cholesterol med. She has seen me RUN up the stairs in our home without any sign of being out of breath. We're both jogging now as well and going to the gym 3 nights a week.

The only thing you can do is to be successful with vaping. This will make him a believer. Good luck Toria.

Thats wonderfull that you feel much more healthy!
I too am looking forward to the health benifits of vaping as opposed to smoking.
I was a smoker for about 30 years so I am very surprized at how easy it was to switch. I am so happy that I did as I no longer smell like an ashtray! Its superb!!

Welcome Toria from a fellow Brit.
You will be amazed how disgusting you find normal cigarettes, even after only a couple weeks of vaping.
Your husband's reaction to you vaping is a fairly common one it seems from reading other's stories here on the forum. I got a lot of puzzled looks and mickey taking from work colleagues. Once they realised it is actually working and I have no intention of going back to smoking, they changed their views and a couple have shown interest in getting their own now.

Hello from the extant dominion across the Big Pond!

I'm equally baffled by his reaction to your stopping tobacco and turning to vapor... have you tried using your e-cig around the house, or in a way to demonstrate it's non-polluting aspects?

I would love if you conspiratorialized your hubby into snapping pics of you vaping in the foyer during the entr'acte. You would of course have to post them here!

Hi there!
and thanks for the welcome!
I am currently enjoying "Nicolites" which I bought from a pharmacy. It is very enjoyable!

"which i bought from a pharmacy" - oh, those words bring a tingle I'll tell you! I can't wait for that day to come here in Canada!

As for an e-cig, get one..you'll be happy you did. As for the hubby, sounds like he'll miss the smell of a cigarette. As for vaping at the opera, yes you can...stealth vape. Take a puff and hold it. Your body will absorb the vapor/nic and no one will know what you're doing.

Hello and congrats on the switch:) In a couple of weeks, chances are you will prefer vaping to smokes and your husband will see a shine in your eyeballs from the o2! Does your husband smoke tobacco? Anytime a girl I was with started talking about laying off the smokes I would get defensive because I didn't want to quit. Luckily, we can vape! good luck
