Hubby called me into the den to see this when it aired, nice to see someone tell it like it is. Hubby quit smoking over 10 years ago and has no interest in vaping but staunchly defends my right to vape and has no problem setting misinformed people straight on the subject if it comes up. Love that hubby.....:wub:

Imagine if Greg Gutfeld had a mod and not a cig-a-like??? VV or VW...He'd be doing a major happy dance!

Yeah really! I thought it was funny they showed two celebs and Greg with cig-a-likes. That makes me wonder if they did their homework. I saw a PT2 and was like: "WOW! I think a glass tank, being able to use any flavor and have a battery last all day is ... better." :D I hope all 3 of them take up the vape cause.

Not to be rude, but this makes you sound very naive. This was clearly paid for by Big Tobacco to promote their cig-alikes. Sale of hobby-type vaporizers will probably be banned for sale nationwide, Big Tobacco will only allow pre-filled, non-refillable cartos to be sold. Count on it. All this wonderful juice we have available right now, it's gonna go away, sorry to say. As soon as the first child ODs on a bottle of Daddy's nicotine juice, it's all over.

Now, what "this" was paid for by Big Tobacco?? The Fox News segment? The celebs vaping? I really don't follow what you're saying here.

I've seen a few things get banned. This is still America though. The last time I was in Wal-mart I could still buy alcohol, tobacco and firearms in the same store at the same time. I don't think the iron fist of big brother is going to take away our juice/mods/tanks. To paraphrase Charlton Heston: They can have my juice when they pry it from my cold dead hands!

p.s. I forgot to mention. As far as banning these types of mods/tanks/juices is concerned; The R's won't support it (banning them) because of individual freedom and the D's won't support it because you can use it for pot without as great of a threat of lung cancer.

It's like an iPad vs Android tablet thing.
Some prefer iPad for many reasons including convenience, simplicity, availability of accessories at your local box store, etc.
Some prefer to be able to do more than just vape what the manufacturer decides they want to vape and don't mind the extra work involved.
The segment was geared more toward the equivalent of the iPad user.

 people of walmart [dot] com

 ban men in drag in NYC - he's going to the wrong bars, he says. then references "fun pie" and parades.

i love the message he's putting out, but every time i watch the segment it gets funnier.

Great piece. As far as being payed by BT, he only mentioned Njoy. I know he was holding a Blu. I think they chose to show the ones that people find familiar and less scary than our beast mods most of us have. Either way, most sheeple will see that piece and start preaching the good. At least it wasn't negative publicity. If vaping is still allowed, it is going to be hard to regulate the mods and juices we use unless they ban the sale of nic juice. I mean, the other stuff is illegal but you still have shops that sell water tobacco pipes and such legally. We need more positive exposure like this. I am going to have to write and email as well thanking them.

Good segment, but as usual, some misinformation has been put out again. Someone needs to tell Greg that one 1ml pre-filled carto does not equal 2 packs of smokes. That means that the 10ml I vape every day would be the equivalent of 2 cartons each and every day....

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ette-vs-e-cigarette-nicotine-equivalency.html

That is the information the vendors tell the sellers who in turn tell the customers.
Average smoker goes into a tobacco shop, sees a disposable cigalike, knowing nothing about it asks the question "how many packs of cigarettes does this thing equal?" The seller passes on what they've been told in the short form "about 2 packs". If you look on cigalike packaging many even state their cigarette package equivalent. Only reading the fine print the asterisk points to gives a truer answer.
I've been that person who asked that question but unlike the average customer I then went online, using Google as my friend, to find out why they are about equal, only to find the answer I was told at the store had nothing to do with nicotine but the same amount of average "puffs". Being the clueless customer on my first time into a vaping shop I asked the same question and was told "a 10ml bottle is equivalent to a carton of cigarettes." I asked "what about different nicotine levels in the bottles?" Shop employee said "doesn't matter, same amount of puffs". He then asked how many analogs I smoke a day and what kind. I answered and he suggested the nicotine level to start with.
Now I fully realize others may find differing results in their customer service experiences but the cigalike maker is the one pushing the false information which Greg erroneously passed on.
Again though, if it causes a person to quit smoking isn't that the most important thing? Successful quitters are the best advertisers for how they made it.

Well, as somebody in the industry, I am always concerned with the brands owned by BT. Lorillard owns Blu, and my I guess I see the writing on the wall. Only prefilled cartos allowed for sale, no flavors other than traditional and menthol (wouldn't want to appeal to children, nevermind all the junk food and flavored alcohol drinks that appeal to children and are worse for them than vaping). And it's not like Faux News isn't know for spreading misinformation. They want you to associate "e-cigarette" with "cig-alikes" and that's all that their corporate sponsors want you buying. It seems pretty obvious to me, just follow the money. BT wants to get flavors and refillables outlawed, that's pretty well established.

Pretty much this. But also... why was that segment almost completely lacking in information to inform the ignorant instead of just a couple of guys joking about it (and other things), with one of them holding a cig-a-like he never ONCE hits to show how it works?

Fox News at it's usual mediocrity. An excellent opportunity gone to waste to push a late night news show.
