How can we give back to people who need it the most? We are thinking of a 1 years worth of free e-liquid or DIY supplies.

What is the best way to determine who needs it the most?

Do we just collect stories to our email, and then select the 3 we feel will benefit the most?

We know times are rough for a lot of people right now, and we think this may be something nice to do.

Please give feedback. We will begin something asap as soon as we get a feeling for how to run something like this.

I am brainstorming now.

My first thought of how to do it will be like this:

Open to anyone who can really benefit from 1 year supply of e-Liquid (Or possibly enough DIY to create your own year supply).

Entry will be in the form of an email to a special email address where the person tells their story of how it will help them.

The stories will be put on a certain page where votes decide on the winner (or ecigexpress decides, either way).

Then let it run for 2-4 weeks.

3 people with the most votes (If technically possible, have to investigate that), or 3 people that we choose, get 1 year supply of above items.

I do kind of like the idea of having the community decide. The stories for voting would be put in wordpress blog in a special Pay It Forward category. This way all of our future PIF related content will be in one neat place.

We are just trying to think of more interesting ways to get participation and wanting to give out some killer stuff to people who need a bit of extra.

I think this is a wonderful thing to do. I also think that voting on the story may not be the absolute best idea because someon my be in dire need, but because they do not express that need well, they may not get the votes necessary. I am thinking of one person who is in dire straits and could use some help, but I will not name that person. I have a feeling that someone may have already sent the name by PM

How do you think they should be selected?

The only 2 options I see is:
Option 1: Votes, or
Option 2: We choose (myself and staff members) based on which stories grab our heart strings the most.
Option 3: Don't know of any, but feel free to suggest :)

I say that you guys choose the winner, or don't attach names to the stories of the so called "needy.

I look at it like this..........if you own a computer you are not "in need", if you have internet access you are not "in need".

There are people out there that don't even have these things.........so the truly needy can't really even benefit from the contest.
Even then, there are those that cannot read nor write, therefore cannot fill out a job application to get a job (or write a story). That is someone truly in need.

I say give the prize to someone with a story that can tell you how they will best make use of the juice.
I've only been vaping for 3 months, but have been told i'm not "needy", and i'm not "new". so I couldn't take a PIF.............so what if I have houses & cars. The bank owns them, & then there are the student loans simply because I chose to further my education to enable me to obtain the houses & cars.

I will not go into "my story" on this thread, but there is ONE person here on ECF that knows my story.

True :)

Or it could just be someone who lost their job, or had a run of bad luck. Had to pay a big hospital bill. Their car just broke down and they need to put in a $2000 transmission which blows their budget for a bit. Had their refrigerator lose power and all their filet mignons and lobster tails went bad :)

here i my take which most have said.
1. i think if one supplier is sponsoring this special PIF then that supplier has the choice in how a group of people win.
2. voting of any kind publicly is a bad idea.
3. i think it could be split down the middle 6 months of attys and juice. ( i would like that wifey has banned me from buying more then what i need from time to time these days and only with extra money) so i almost done vape maybe one month out of the year these days. which is now :p
