So I got dual parallel 24g gplat on 1/8 drill bit at .14 ohms and it's hitting ok but it's still a bit weak I'm wondering g if anyone has any pointers for the mutation X

Try a copper mod with some copper contacts that are clean or silver plated or even solid silver if you got that kind of money. Sorry that's all I got. You probably know all that too, seeing that you're running a .14 dual parallel G-Plat build. To hot for me. Good luck
I believe it's silver plated copper and surprisingly with all the airflow it's a relatively cool vape
A good picture or two of your build would help a lot.
You said dual parallel. If that is 4 pieces of wire in two coils, you might have too much surface area for the power. I'm running a dual 24 gauge setup right now at 0.2 ohms and I have to turn off the smoke detector in the hallway, around the corner and up the stairs to keep it from going off

What's that supposed to mean? The more airflow, the cooler the vape, it would be surprising if it had 18 airholes and the vape was warm.
That said, i don't know anyone who routinely vapes their Mutation X wide open, I myself usually keep only 6 open.
For me, the mutation X is easy to build, but a bit of a bugger to fine tune to oerfection.
Right now, I'm running a dual set of diagonal coils (in line with the airflow holes) of 26g, and it is pretty good, but not as cloud making as my plume veil.
I use 6 holes for regular vaping too. 14 or slightly more for max vapor. I don't think I've got enough power in it for all the air to be an advantage, but I really haven't got enough experience with it yet to be sure.
Not routinely but I have opened it up to 8 holes per side on occasion for a couple of deep lung hits. I typically use 6 or 6 and half of the next row of air holes when casually vaping though.
My Plume has sat on my build table since receiving my MuteX. The air flow adjustability is very versatile. Want flavor? Close it down. Want clouds? Open it up. The best part? That deep well. I drip 20-24 drops out of a glass dripper that comes with most juices. The Plume? Ha! Don't even think about putting in close to that amount of juice.
yea, if you want to improve density, just close off some of the air holes like others mentioned.

Yeah, I find the Mutation X more of a generalist. If I want Big Clouds, I go to the Plume Veil, if I want big flavor, I go to my Veritas, if I don't care, I go to my Mutation X.
I find the mutation x to be extremely airy... Even with all air holes closed I can easily draw through it...
I suppose it needs some air flow but it seems like more than necessary...

It's designed for maximum vapor production and is very good at that. That requires a lot of power and air flow. As you can see with the air restricted it doesn't do too bad with flavor which is one reason I like it.
Went out and bought an ipv2 problem solved couldn't Waite to pick up a 150w or higher so hey 95 bucks worth it
Generalist? Hmm. I find that I don't need to switch out attys to acquire clouds or flavor with the MX. The choice is mine. Versatility, to the extremes.
"Even with all air holes closed I can easily draw through it" YHGTBSM! I'd been dripping all night and decided to throw a little 5 Pawns CLR in for a few flavorful nite cap hits. I closed it down to 1 hole per side. It felt so restrictive to me. I toned down my lung hits and started doing mouth to lung hits on it and it was still restrictive but oh so flavorful.
If you can't close down the MX enough, something is wrong with your build imo.
Actually, after reading jaxgator's comment, I'm thinking you are probably doing mouth to lung inhales. IMO, if that's the case, you're not getting nearly the full benefit you can from this atty.
Yeah, Generalist. While I can get big clouds with the MX, they aren't as big as with my Plume veil, and while I can get great flavor with the MX, it's just not quite as tasty as my Veritas. The MX has more bases covered, but the other two cover their specialty bases, just a wee bit better.
That said, I use the MX more than either of the others.
Yeah, I can see that, seeing that each of the others were specifically designed for one purpose or the other. Although I still seem to get as much as, if not more, vapor production out of my MX as my Plume.
