Webcams question

I looking for a webcam I can use to record myself playing guitar and singing. I have a beautiful new microphone that my girlfriend got me for my birthday and I've been recording with it but I like to do video to so I can post it on youtube to show people I know. I'd like to record with the webcam and get the audio from the mic. I've tried a couple different webcams and they all seem to skip or whatever and the playback is horrible. Anyone know of any good webcams with a smooth recording? I don't want to have to continue to use my digital camera for recording.
Maybe it's my computer because I recorded with 30fps and was still getting rough playback/skipping/jumping and the mouth didn't move with the words.

Basically any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well it could be a number of things. One of the things you could look at is the software that you are using to record the video with. Also they are now making HD Webcams. Here's a link that talks a bit about the new Logitech HD Webcam.

Before investing in a new camera though you could try looking at different software that you can actually record the video with. Here's a link to some software that you can try out.

Video Capture Software - Reviews and free downloads at Download.com

But as I said before you might want to try looking into the software before you go out and buy new hardware. You may be able to just adjust the settings and what not until you get a good clean video. I for one would hate to buy a new piece of hardware to find out that the software I was using wasn't set properly or was just not that great to begin with.

I was using the software that came with it just to test it, Watchport Imaging, never got any further than that to test it out.

The thing is as much as I'd like to spend about $100 on a camera, I don't have that kind of money but want good quality. My tastes are probably too rich for my own good.

I wouldn't say that. There are dozens of programs out on the net are actually very good. I used to use one that was very good a few years back, but I honestly for the life of me can't remember the name of it. Sometimes the trick to getting good footage is all about how the software works with your camera. Just because the camera can record at 30fps doesn't mean your software is utilizing it. You could try checking your settings. You could try out Adobe Premiere Pro. I know it has a capture program built into it and is very good for editing. You can download a trial version to see how it works.
