Am glad you posted because I just got my first ecig yesterday (Joye510) and I'm having a reaction to the nicotine too. Not chest pains, more like nausea and light headed. I have the 26mg carts and 26 mg liquid. Could that be too strong. Was a heavy smoker for 30 years. But never could use the patch, lozenge or gum w/o feeling sick.

Also can't get rid of that burnt taste. My other problem is I rarely get any smoke. Am using auto battery to get started. I did soak the atty with liquid and switched around the cart trying different liquid flavors. My first hit after dipping is flavorful, but then I get that burnt after taste. I read in thread that will go away eventually.

#1... the sickness... I got the same thing when I first got mine and tried it. Lasted 3 hours, and I haven't had it since.

#2... Did you blow your atomizer out and wipe the liquid that came out on a paper towel, and do this again and again, until the paper towel no longer would get moist from pressing the atomizer to it? I did this with all my atomizers, and have not had a nasty taste to date (I didn't even wash them before filling them).

Nausea and sickness are one of the side effects when you stop analogs.... It could also be that the 26mg is a tad too strong for you. Depends on how much you smoked every day before. I'd say that if the symptons don't subside in a few days, try a lower dosage.

Burnt taste is primer that comes on the atty. As others have said, the first thing you should have done when you got your kit was blow out the primer in the atty onto a paper towel until nothing comes out. Then drip 2-3 drops on the bridge and puff/blow (don't inhale). The burnt taste should then go away after a while.

I don't understand why, as I smoked a min a pack a day, but I got identical symptoms for about 3 hours from my first loading and vape... This was going straight from an analog, so definitely not a cessation side affect, but like I said, after those 3 hours, I have never had that since.

I am really curious what caused that though... It was not a a very pleasant feeling. I started to think that maybe it had something to do with spilling a tiny bit of liquid on myself, or perhaps the dose was too high (26mg from V4L). Either way, all gone now :D

Thanks for the advice everyone. No, I did not "blow out" the atty. I just added e-liquid to it. I will definitely try that.

I smoked 1.5 packs a day for many many years. But I did smoke ultra lights. And like I said I could never do patch, lozenges or gum. The nic rush would kill me. So maybe I do have a sensitivity to nicotine w/o all the poisons that come with it in analogs.

The good news is, this is my first day and I only had about 5 analogs. And when I do, I don't seem to enjoy the "weak" TP.

Good to know that "feeling" goes away since I have 5 carts, and 3 liquids all 26mg.

I guess your body just has to get used to the pure nicotine without all the chemicals to offset it (like the MAOIs that would make you too happy to care). I just continued taking the occasional puff, and it worked itself out in the end.

Good luck... I think it has a lot of potential for success, just have to get over the initial hurdles!
