2: Hey SJ, on the last thread you said your not into zombie shows. I am not either and happened to walk into the room as one of my children was watching The Walking Dead, it looked interesting and different so I watched for a little while. It seemed good enough to start from the beginning which I did, and then on to season two. If you have access to Netflix the show can be found there. There have been many people who are not zombie show fans that have got hooked on this show, give it a shot.

the flier is just about done being designed. i sent it back yesterday with about 20-25 edits. the flier girl then demanded more money.....
i rec the updated version around 1am, and its much better. needs a few minor changes to info and a little omission.
i reluctantly agreed to pay her. i wanted to tell her she is over 2 days late, and has ruined the opportunity for me to get the fliers in hand from the printer on thursday like i had wanted. event spending an extra 100-175$ for rushed printing and shipping still wouldnt guarantee then in hand by the 12th. very frustrating.
but at least i know it will get done and i can start putting feet to the pavement.

all djs are confirmed.
still have to buy Frankie Bones's plane tickets and hotel room
venue is half paid for (paid deposit yesterday)
pro sound is confirmed, i have booked QUADRAPHONIC sound!! (this is surround sound for a dancefloor!)
pro lighting mostly confirmed (still a done deal) this includes visual screens and projector + visuals
equipment is mostly confirmed (ie: 2 technics 1200 vinyl turntables, 2 cdj2000 turntables, pioneer djm600+ - 900)
show is announced on facebook, and my website (truvibecollective.com)

still waiting on fliers (final design and print)
waiting on increased web promotion by associated talent and AZ promoters.

have to decide and budget how much alcohol to purchase. i usually am not one to serve/sell alchy, but the venue allows it, and it will increase attendance and revenue

need to hire two licensed bartenders (preferable that will work only for tips)

need to hire a couple people for security

need to buy decorations

need to make a staffing list for various roles (ie. door, vending)

need to finalize the time slots for the DJs

need to book vendors. I am thinking: Hookah, Glowtoys, and Vape gear

still a LOT left to do, but once the fliers arrive i can take a breather. i get home and spend 2-6 hours on the phone each day and night for the last week putting everything in place. but once i can start street level promotions it should be smooth sailing until the event.

on a side side note. a local news station reported contacted me (twice) about wanted to do a story on my show, including an interview and film crew inside my event. I told her i would consider it, but after discussing with some of my friends decided its a terrible idea. Not all publicity really IS good publicity.
