It may do.

For me personally one thing that I found was that my sense of taste and smell was much more acute.
Food really tasted so good.
It was not that I has hungrier (as I was still getting my nicotine fix) . It just tasted better.

Initially I gained a bit of weight but as time went by I was much more active and had much more energy.
I started to excessive more.

After a few months my weight sort of settled down to what it was originally before I changed to e-cigs.

I think that vaping helped me a lot. I gained a few pounds but much less than the amount I gained on previous attempts to quit. Think that vaping helps a lot as it cures the behavioral issues (hand to mouth) associated w/ quitting.

More importantly, pounds can be trimmed off - so can years of damage by smoking. Good Luck!

Most people don't experience weight gain which is nice.

When you quit smoking cold turkey or even with patches, gum, many people end up eating to get though the "oral fixation" issues. You don't have to do that when you vape. My weight stayed stable when I switched to vaping. A couple months later I did gain some weight, but it had nothing to do with vaping. I always gain some weight in the winter. Now, all the weight I've gained is gone :) yay!

Random Bonus... Switching to vaping makes exercise a whole heck of a lot easier on the body to do.

I'm with Frosting - most of the eating post quitting is simply sating the oral fixation/hand to mouth habit. If you dive into vaping bakery flavors you could kill two birds with one stone. I've found I have more energy so I started going to the gym again. Congrats on quiting. You'll enjoy the new habit and soon will feel like a million bucks :~)

I was always under the assumption that the weight gain had to do with nicotine withdrawals. I could be wrong, but I thought nic increased our metabolism, and since we vape nicotine, we still get that benefit of an increased metabolism.

Like I said though, I could be far from correct on this.

This was my thoughts as well. It's the nicotine in ciggs that speeds metabolism and decreases appetite. plus, your not trying to full cravings with another substance (food), so you're less likely to overeat.

Here and back
I lost 20 lbs in the first year and have kept it off. BMI at 121.5 right now so pretty perfect. No effort on my part, it just naturally happened.

Regarding a better sense of smell and taste, true. For me the enhanced senses just make unpalatable foods even more unpalatable, I find myself even more discerning than before instead of "piggy".

A couple years ago I quit using Chantix, I was smoke free for 8 months after that, but the side effects almost ended a relationship. (Horrible Mood Swings, Anger Issues, ect). I went back and forth to smoking at least 9 times. Each time using Chantix and each time suffering the most horrible side effects. As I was doing this my weight climbed higher and higher. At my heaviest I think I gained almost 80 pounds. I'm a very petite woman, so this had a serious effect on me. I then decieded, last year, to quit cold turkey, I couldn't handle the side effects from that medication anymore and I didn't want to smoke. It was so difficult and I lasted close to 5 months, but went right back to it in an extremely stressful situation. My weight gain from that was climbing to almost 100 pounds at that point.

In January, I found e-cigerettes. I tried all of the local shops around here, but I was a HEAVY smoker. It just wasn't enough for me. So I trolled the internet looking for answers and found them. At first I ordered an Inferno from Volcano's website. Instantly fell in love and have been buying Mods and Vaping since.

Almost 3 months now and I've lost a significant amount of weight since I started Vaping. I don't "Boredom Eat" anymore because I have my trusty Mod that sits at my side. I find it completely satisfiying and am now on a search for the "Perfect" Mod for me. I love the wide variety of flavors and really enjoy vaping.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

I'm with those that have lost weight since quitting the stinkies. Last several times I "quit' I gained a lot and each time it was simply added to the previous gain and I wound up weighing almost 260lbs by July of last year. That is a lot on a 5' 10" frame! I had already changed my eating habits prior to switching to vape, but I am currently at 195lbs and still losing ~2lbs a week and the mass is going where I want it too now. Any e-juice would probably cause one to gain a bit of weight if one simply drank it, as it is almost entirely made up of glucose. (Sugar) Only a tiny amount of it is actually metabolized through vaping though, so it is inconsequential.

The greatest benefit of vaping over other methods is -- as has already been said here -- that you are sating several desires that typically lead to weight gain at the same time, thus making e-gigs an even better way to quit. There simply is no other method for quitting smoking than e-cigs. :vapor:

For me, quitting cold turkey left me with a hunger I couldn't satisfy with food.
The oral fixation was sorted with mints and lollies, but the nic withdrawal itself felt just like hunger and I ate like a great big eating machine.

I became the heaviest I ever was and started smoking again just to lose it again. Getting chunky was not an option.

Stopping smoking with vaping has been different. No monster hunger so no weight gain. My appetite has improved, but so has my lifestyle and energy levels. I'm finding myself eating healthier food too, it tastes better to me now.

Oh crap...does that mean
I'm getting old??? Uh oh.

Unlike the rest of ya posting above, I've gained approximately 30 lbs since I switched exclusively to vaping, and can no longer fit into my 36" jeans. Got me a pair of 'fat boy' jeans with a stretch waist band and now I can breathe again! ;)

Food tastes better, but quantity per meal has not changed, so that's where I'm beginning the process of getting back into my pants...cutting back on the amount per serving.

One thing to note, when I began vaping I was using 24mg nic, but quickly was able to cut that level to 6mg, up to about 11 mg of nic. (I can't sleep at night with nic levels much above 11mg.)

Hopefully, warmer weather will encourage me to walk and ride my bicycle more! :)
