weird 510T battery deal

ok, this is weird.. Have a joyetech 510-t battery (only had a few weeks). Anyway noticed the darn battery would just sit there and glow.. off and on. So i disconnected the batt from atty... and if holding the battery ONLY with the LED end down it is fine, if i turn the LED pointing up, it lights up like its working.. Can i assume a bad battery here?

I would assume that there is some sort of defect there. Is it firing the atty when the switch lights up on its own like that?

if the atty is connected, it still lights up when turned up, but doesnt seem to fire the atty... Of course im so new to this, it could be and i dont know.

If the atty was firing when light turns on by itself, you should be able to hear the heating coil making a crackling noise. Might have to put your ear close to hear it, some are louder then others. If its not firing the atty, unless your pushing the button on course, then I wouldn't worry too much. If its still under a warranty of some sort from either the vendor or manufacturer I would try to get it replaced.

yes, i screwed the battery into the atty, and you can hear it making a crackle non stop and LED lighting up.. oh, and its a auto, so no button..

This is difinitely defective, talk to your supplier ASAP I've had that issue happen to me and found no way to fix it... I guess you could also open the battery and check the connections, but I doubt anyone in here would recommend that...

Ooooh, didn't realize it was an auto battery. That battery is definitely no good if its firing the atty on its own, something wrong with the internal switch for sure. If you have only had it for a few weeks I would see if you can't get it replaced under warranty, most places give at least a 30 day warranty on batteries.

thanks guys.. Defective it seems.. I will head over there on Monday.. As that will be going on the 3rd week.. so def. under 30 days since i had..

LOL, was hard enough to get my wife to start using it, now that it smokes itself, she's freaking out, the goofy thing is it does it when held upright, not down, so i told her to lay in bed and stare at the ceiling, and she wouldnt even have to work at it to take a puff.. She didnt think that joke was cute

I am new in the forum but have been vaping during three months by now... I actually have a lot of batteries and none does such a weird thing... it is defective... and tell your wife that was completely unusual...

I am not that familiar with the auto 510-T, so for my own edification, is the battery sealed. I do know that liquid in a standard 510 auto can do a lot of damage if the liq gets into the battery hole.

It does sound like liquid damage. If a liquid gets between the little membrane in the vacuum switch it will short it out and fire the battery randomly. Try letting it dry out for 24hours and see what happens, you can contact the vendor but I don't know if they will replace it if its liquid damage.
