Weird fastech credit card verification system - sceptical...SCAM????

Just made my first fastech ecig supply order last nite....and it was a doozy .


it was well under a grand but not a terribly unusual cc sale for me, however it was my first CC purchase from china.


anyway, i wake up to an email from fastech with all the acct and order info correct asking me to photograph the front of my card and send it to them.
they say ..not the back so no signature or security code is visible..
they say they need this to finalize payment.

Ive never heard of anything like this and im thinking NO WAY its a scam.

Can some of you confirm this practice is legit...Im not getting my camera out until I know more about this.

I made my first Fastech order today,mine was around $135, and got the same email, about 30 min after I made the order.
Sent through the photo and within 20min had confirmation of payment and looks like everything will be ready to ship in the next 24 hours.
Seems legit, I have never had that before but it all looks ok at this stage, I think being such a major on liner seller they wouldn't be scamming... I hope!

Wow! I order a lot from fasttech but you should break your order up into $25 to $30 orders just in case they get confiscated. Things do happen. There's nothing wrong with ordering from them, just I'd break them up just for peace of mind. If you lose 1 order out of many, big deal but imagine your 1 order getting confiscated at customs?

Hmm, I always just use PP, when dealing with FT. But noticed when directed to the PP sign in one had the option to use a cc and not a pp account, using pp verification engine.

I have ordered about three times from FT now, all under 100$ and never had this come up. It has always directed me to the PP verification system.

My bank does not accept international sales unless I am traveling in that country. This may be the reason why they require a photo of your credit card. I opened up a PP and switched, and no problems. Having had one instance of someone stealing my # and making an international order on it, and the ensuing inconvenience, I am grateful.
